Chapter 891
chapter891
Corley spoke into his phone. "Just drop us at the village entrance."
"What? Aren't you going to the Smiths"?"
Mamie glanced at the two imposing men standing nearby. "So, Mr. Sullivan, you went to call in reinforcements?"
Corley nodded.
*Then what about Mr. Reynolds?* The question flickered through Mamie's mind, but she knew better than to ask.
Just then, the goon who had been slapped twice decided to speak up. "Who do you fools think you are? Let us go if you know what's good for you!"
Mamie scoffed. "Let you go? In your dreams. Or maybe you haven't had enough slaps yet?"
Scales raised his hand threateningly.
The goon flinched. *Are these two slapping maniacs? They're completely nuts!*
"I... I've got people! If you touch me again, my boss will make you pay ten times over!"
"Alright, I get it," Mamie said with a nod. She then winked at Scales, and the two of them stepped forward, unleashing a flurry of slaps from both sides.
*Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!*
The goon's head was spinning, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. "You... you..."
"Just testing to see if your boss would magically appear," Mamie said sweetly. Scales added, "Me too."
The goon was utterly bewildered. *These people are insane! Genuinely insane!* "My boss is Malloy you're finished! Absolutely finished!"
"Who?" Mamie asked, feigning shock. "Malloy?"
Seeing her reaction, the goon puffed out his chest. "That's right! Scared now? Well, I've got news for you-it's too late!"
Mamie turned to Scales. "Caley, that name... they must have ripped it off from some TV villain, right?"
Scales nodded. "Yeah, from that hit crime drama that was on a while back."
After a pause, he added, "And the main villain, Malloy, got killed off in the finale." The goon was speechless.
At that moment, Fabian, who had been lying on the ground, slowly got to his feet. He swayed unsteadily, gritting his teeth. "You can't afford to cross Malloy!"
He pulled out his phone and waved it at them triumphantly. "I've already called him. He should be..... arriving any minute now. Haha..."
Mr. Smith's face went pale. He quickly turned to his son. "Carlson, get everyone out of heret Before he arrives, you have to go! Get out of the village, but don't go to town... go straight to the city! Hurry!"
"Hahaha... Scared now, are we, Mr. Smith?!" Fabian laughed maniacally. "Too late! Today, my brother and I will settle our score starting with your family and these city slicker bastards!"
Mr. Smith was so terrified he was trembling, his face ashen.
Fabian's laughter was wild and unrestrained.
"Go! Get them out of here!" Mr. Smith urged Carlson.
Carlson snapped back to his senses. "... Right!"
Just then, the sputtering engines of five or six shuttle vans grew louder as they
pulled up and parked in the open space across from the Smith's house.
A bald man stepped out of the lead van, followed by a scrawny, nervous-looking young man. From the other vans, three or four men emerged from each, lining up behind the bald man. The scene looked like something straight out of a gangster movie showdown.
Owen Reynolds frowned, instinctively moving to shield Roseanne.
Scales and Mamie exchanged a look and took a step forward, creating a protective barrier of their own.
Mr. Smith's face was drained of all color, but he stood his ground, pulling his wife and children behind him.
"He's here! Malloy, you're finally here!" Fabian, helping Jay up, scrambled and stumbled toward... the scrawny young man behind the bald one.
