Chapter 146
Alexander lay on one side of the bed while staring at the beauty in front of him. She was sleeping so peacefually and looked so beautiful that he couldn't take his eyes off her. He loved this woman so much with every fiber of his being; he never thought he could love someone this much. He never imagined that one day he would love Lily this deeply.
He remembered the first time he met her. She had quietly walked into his study, and the only way he noticed her presence was when he caught a whiff of her scent. He had been busy going through some documents and didn't even glance at her, despite sensing her presence.
He had waited for her to say something, but she greeted him with silence. That made him furrow his brow because others who came in before her had done one or two silly things just to get his attention and make him notice them.
He had asked himself, "Didn't she come here voluntarily to be his wife? Then why was she acting so distant?" His own question made him frustrated because, realistically, he wasn't even wooing her. It was then that he realized she had knocked before entering, and he mentally kicked himself for being so dense. Of course, she knew he knew she was in the room.
Thinking back on that moment made him chuckle.
It was after that realization that he slowly looked up at her. His breath had hitched for a moment, but at the time, he had brushed it off. It was then that he noticed the presence of Mark in the room, and his ears had tuned out everything Nathan had said. He was busy studying the looks and mannerisms of the lady in front of him.
He didn't know what was going through his mind when he blurted out,“She will do." He had accepted her to be his wife without a second thought.
He didn't realize it at the time, but he had fallen in love with her at first sight. He had lied to himself until his love for her became undeniable after months of being together.
Alexander smiled as he remembered this. He would forever remain in love with this woman, even until death. He was ready to do anything to keep her safe; she was the air he breathed. He kissed her gently on the cheek.
"Tonight, I'm going to do the one thing I should've done a long time ago.baby," he smiled as he imagined how she would react to his surprise.
Night fell, and soon everything was set up for the surprise he had for Lily.
Lily had woken up two hours ago and had gotten ready. She also went to her daughter's room to help her get ready as well.
"Give Mommy a kiss," Lily said, bringing her cheek close, and Viola gave her a big kiss on both cheeks.
"I love you, mommy."
"I love you too,my pretty princess."
Lily picked Viola up and swung her around, which made Vioa laugh happily. She loved it when her mother did this.
"Madam, the boss said I should come take both of you to the location."
"Okay, Viola, let's go."
Viola happily took her mother's hand, and they headed out of the suite.then got into the Porsche car waiting outside. Guards were surrounding
them as they got into the cars behind them.
Soon, the car headed to the location.
Lily kept staring outside as the car drove them, even though the resort had its own road. The view was breathtaking, and she had never seen anything like it. The resort was alive with activity. There were outdoor and indoor clubs, and the overall atmnosphere was lively. She loved the work Alexander had done here.
She wasn't sure what Alexander's surprise was, but she made sure to dress for the occasion, wearing something that would match the resort's theme. She wore a milk-colored silk gown with an open back and a V-neck. She let her hair flow freely because Alexander liked it that way.
She was so excited, and she could tell that Viola, who already knew everything, was even more excited. That made Lily more impatient.
Eventually, they arrived at a place that looked like a restaurant. It was large, with a two-story building.
Lily was in awe of how beautiful it looked on the outside. This resort really felt like its own town. She couldn't stop being impressed by it.
She got out of the car with Viola holding her hand.
"Let's go inside, mummy, daddy must be waiting for us," an excited Viola said.
Lily nodded, and soon they both headed inside the restaurant.
Inside, the restaurant was empty, and Lily looked around, trying to spot Alexander.
"Ma'am, let's head to the rooftop."
"The rooftop?" Lily asked, surprised.
"Yes, ma'am," the bodyguard replied.
Lily nodded, and they began climbing the wooden stairs. The building was two stories high, so they had to climb all the way to the top.
Lily held Viola's hand all the way to the top. When they reached the top.there was just a door that separated them from entering the rooftop.
Lily couldn't hear any voices or sounds coming from the rooftop, but her excitement was building.
"Madam,you1 can go in now," the bodyguard said, and Lily nodded.
She slowly placed her hand on the doorknob and pushed it open, only to be greeted by a large rooftop that made her gasp in surprise.
"Surprise!" an excited scream followed, and Lily's eyes widened when she saw everyone she knew in the place. They had all come out of their hidden spots and surprised her.
"How is it?" she was speechless.
Grandma Helen was here, along with Michael, Matthew, her grandfather.her father, Sandra, Alina, her assistant, and some of Alexander's close friends she had met over the years. The entire place wwas beautifully decorated with music playing in the background, and just as Lily was about to ask for Alexander, he suddenly spoke, and his words made her freeze in her spot.
"Will you marry me?"
She slowly turned to her right where his voice came from, and there he was, kneeling down in front of a large sign that read "MARRY ME AGAIN,LILY."
Lily looked at the ring in his hand, and she became emotional. Their marriage had started as a contract marriage, and although the contract had ended, they still hadn't had a proper wedding, something she had always wished for.
"Loving you was something I never thought would happen, but here I am.madly in love, like a madman. One thing I don't ever want to do in this life is lose you. I won't survive it if I were to lose you, Lily. So please.marry me so we can live the rest of our lives together. I brought our families here today to witness this and to show you how much you mean to me. I want us to have all kinds of weddings-church weddings.traditional weddings, everything. I want us to be married in the eyes of the law, in the eyes of God, and n the eyes of man."
"Say yes, mummy!" Viola screamed excitedly. Now, her parents were going to have a proper wedding, and she would be in their wedding photos.
"Say yes!!" Everyone else screamed, excited for the day. Even Caleb was excited. Though he and Alexander still had their differences, he knew one thing: Alexander was the best man for his granddaughter, and over the years,he had come to accept that.
Lily, still crying, rushed toward Alexander. "Yes, I will marry you again and again, Alexander."
Alexander placed the ring on her finger and stood up to hug her. Then, they both kissed.
Everyone clapped happily.
She had never expected such a surprise from Alexander.
They kissed deeply, without a care in the world. Their love for each other was something only the two of them could fully explain.
