Chapter 25

Landon's serious gaze stopped the doctor and nurses in their tracks, but it did not take long for genuine excitement to break through their professional front.

A ripple of anticipation crossed their faces, even though they tried to mask it with calm.

"Dr. Green!" said the doctor, nearly tripping over his own enthusiasm.

The nurses exchanged amazed glances, hardly able to believe they were meeting Landon up close.

Emilia acted as though Landon was a complete stranger and quickly reached for his hand, saying,"Dr. Green, there's a girl here who needs an operation. We were hoping you could help her. No one else can do it but you."

Everyone was caught off guard by her boldness, especially since Landon was known for his fiery temper.

No one expected him to lash out, but most thought his words would be biting.

Instead, they watched as something in Landon shifted. He surprised everyone by giving a gentle nod. "Alright. If fate brought me here today, then it's not her time yet. I'll take care of her."

Everyone around the room wondered if Emilia might actually know Landon, and they struggled to understand why he treated her so kindly.

The doctor and nurses stood frozen, unable to process what they were seeing, almost certain they had slipped into some impossible dream.

Landon had never seemed this approachable, not even around influential people.

"Get things ready right away," Landon ordered.

The team shook off their surprise and immediately began preparing for the procedure. Before long, the medical specialists Landon had assembled were getting their equipment ready for the operation.

As he neared the operating room, he glanced at Emilia and asked deliberately, feigning doubt, "Did you ever study medicine?"

Emilia answered with a nod, "I did."

"Then suit up and come inside." Without waiting for her response, Landon walked straight into the operating room.

Emilia hurried after him while the others stared, trying to make sense of what they just saw.

"Can you believe it? Dr. Green just picked her to help him in surgery," one of the nurses whispered.

"I'd give anything to watch Dr. Green work up close,"said another. "Who knows what we could learn?"

"Dr. Green's entire team-every one of them is handpicked and top of their field. Honestly, she's got luck on her side." Nobody wanted to leave the corridor outside the operating room. Their faces were full of awe, each one hungry to absorb anything they could.

"But I have to admit, there's no one I admire more than Asclepius. That's the real legend-the one who can pull someone back from the edge of death.I'd give anything to watch him work," said one ofthe younger doctors.

"Absolutely. I don't even know what Asclepius looks like. I'm willing to pay anything for a chance to learn from him."

Their voices lowered as they/ talked, every word tinted with admiration for the mysterious healer.

None of them had any clue that Asclepius was already inside, working quietly in that very operating room.

Had they known, not a soul would have stepped away from that hallway.

When they finally found out the truth later, regret kept them tossing and turning at night, wishing they could go back.

"Don't worry, sir. With Dr. Green on the case, your great-granddaughter couldn't be in better hands. We'll leave you to it-we've got other patients to check on." Once the doctor finished speaking, he signaled for the team to follow, and together they exited the hallway.

The elderly man stood rooted to the spot, shaken and dazed, the idea of contacting his family completely forgotten in the chaos.

Eventually, his trembling hands found his phone, and he managed to place a call.

Without warning, the door to the conference room slammed open. An assistant rushed in, his expression twisted with worry.

"Mr. Edwards, there's a problem! Miss Edwards had a car accident!"
