Chapter 32
KESKA: After Nana cleans and bandages my arm, I give her a big hug. I just hold on to her and let the tears fall. She holds me and rocks me like a small child, till the tears stop. "Nana, may I go run the course? I will take Mackie with me, just until they all leave to go to the school, then I will come help Sarah with dinner." "Of course, my dear." “May I take Adrian and Kina to show them?"“Of course, you might even want to take Liam as well."“Thank you Nana.""Welcome, sweety." I turn to Sarah, link me please when you start on dinner, we (I point to Mackie and myself.) will come help." I say to her. "I will make sure to do that." She tells me. I then link Liam, *“Are you having fun?""Not so much.”“Do you want to goto Nana's andrun the obstacle course?""Yes, Please!" “Meet me and Mackie at the front of the pack house in 5 minutes, we might have a surprise."“Ok. I'll be there."* I close the link and go in search of Adrian and Kina.
DRAKE: After father took mother to their room, I looked around the dining room, and saw the faces of some of our guests. I don't even try to make excuses for what just happened. “Mother has always been an eccentric scene maker, and leaves everyone else to clean up her messes. I am sorry that you all had to witness that, but please let us go out and join the kids at the pool and enjoy ourselves until we all have to make our way to the school." I say to everyone. I link Carla, *“Have the omegas move the hors d'oeuvres table out to the poolside." "Alright, dear."*
KESKA: I go in search of Adrian and Kina, and not finding them, I call Adrian.“Hello.”“Hi, would you and Kina like to join Mackie, Liam, and me? We are going to go over to Nana's to run the obstacle course she has in her backyard." "Hold on, and I will ask her.” (Kina dear, Keska is on the phone and wants to know if you would like to go to her Nana's house.she has an obstacle course, from what I understand."“I would absolutely
love to go; it could be fun to try the course ourselves, and it might prove advantageous for training.""Where do we meet you?" at the front door of the pack house in about 3 minutes." I hang up and Mackie and I go to my room and change out of our dresses and into shorts, tee shirts,and cross trainers, and head downstairs to the front door. Liam is already there,and a minute later, Adrian and Kina show up. Nana comes walking up behind us al1. “Are we all ready?" she asks the group assembled.We all answer “Yes.”And head out.
KESKA: On the walk to Nana's, I tell Adrian about what happened with Jessie and that I accepted her rejection as well, and now she can't link me."Why didn't you tell me that?” Liam said. “Because I didn't want you influenced by what was happening between me and Jessie. She is still your sister,evena though I broke our bond by accepting her rejection.”I tell him.“And you have already felt the rift it has caused with your argument with Lissa that night at the dinner table. I don't want you fighting with them because of me." I tell him. We spend the afternoon running the course.Nana has a target set up at the very backend of the course. It looks like an oversized stuffed wolf's head on a wooden pole dressed in oversized raggedy clothes stuffed with hay and straw. "Now this time,Kes,you are going to make your way to the target as quietly as you can, and from as high as you can. Do you understand ?""Yes, Nana,” I say to her. I run the course with everyone there watching me. I get about 2/3rds. Of the way up the last pole and I make a leap to the target, I grip it as hard as I can, and I end up sliding down to the ground.
LILLY: I look at everyone,“Now you know how my grandfather killed that Lycan so long ago. I would appreciate it if you kept it to yourselves."Those present nodded at me.
ADRIAN: I received a link from my grandfather. *“Where are you? It's time to leave for the school," "We will be right there; we were spending
time with Miss Lilly at her house."* I link back. "Time to go dear."I tell my mate. "Thank you so much, Miss Lilly, it's been a pleasure spending time with you, I hope to see more of you in the future." My mate says to our host.“The pleasure was all mine. I will see you at the school.”She says. and we take our leave.
LILLY: "It's time. girls. Liam, to get ready to go."“Do we have to,Nana?”Liam whines at me. "Liam! Yes, we have to, it's your brother's and sister's graduation ceremony, if you don't go,you will end up regretting it in the end. Not to mention that they will not let you forget that you did not go."I tell him."Nana, Mackie, and I have to go back to the pack house to change." Kes says.“Stephen will take you, then come to get me and we will pick you three back up in 10 minutes, so hurry and be ready." I tell them."Stephen,"I call out. "Yes, Miss Lilly?”“Please come and take the kids to the pack house.""Yes. Miss Lilly.” I watch as they drive away,then make my way to my room where I change into something a little dressier for the commencement ceremony. And make sure that I am ready when Stephen comes back.
KESKA: We get back to the pack house, Mackie and I go to my room, and Liam goes to his to change. Mackie and I put our dresses back on that we had on earlier in the day, and Liam changed into a pair of casual slacks and a button-down shirt that sets his eyes off. "You are going to give James a run for his money." I tell him. He blushes at me. “Stop!”“You will have to ride home with the rest of the family." I tell him,"Mackie and I will haveto leave after Wyatt walks, or the twins, whichever comes last,because we promised we would help with dinner, and I will have to remind Nana of that when they come to get us." I tell him.
