Chapter 60

"Why are you here?" Patrick asked.staring at Emily, who had just shown up out of nowhere. He was surprised but secretly hoped she was there to see him.

Emily, clearly annoyed, shot back, "I came back to find something important!" Patrick's mind started racing. Was she here because she wanted him back, but couldn't sayit? He felt a surge of thrill in his heart.

He sensed that Emily still cared about him, and a faint smile crept onto his face.

Patrick loosened his suit, adjusted his tie, and leaned back on the sofa."Emily, what important thing are you looking for?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

"It's none of your business," Emily snapped, her initial emnotion quickly fading. Patrick's expression darkened. "If it's none of my business.then please leave my apartment immediately," he said, feeling a wave of anger and disappointment ather coldness.

Emily tried to walk past him but tripped over something on the floor. She almost fell, but Patrick caught her by the waist just in time, nearly falling himself. The sudden closeness made their hearts race.

Emily's cheeks turned a light shade of pink. Feeling Patrick so close brought a rush of mixed emotions. Patrick held her tightly, worried she might fall.

This morning, the skirt she randomly grabbed when leaving seemed a bit short and cinched at the waist. The thought of being held in his arms seemed somewhat tempting.

As soon as Emily thought of this, she struggled to break free. But Patrick hadn't held her like this for a long time. He felt that the fit of this body was like it was tailor-made for him. Holding her felt so soft. Seeing Emily struggling. Patrick involuntarily used more strength. For a moment.the injured area began to emit a faint pain.

Patrick gently rested his head on Emily's shoulder. He had just been irritated by Shirley and had actually left the Green Forest apartment ahead of time. However, when he reached the parking lot. the extinguished smoldering flame in his heart was rekindled by a sudden rush of desire. In that moment of rising desire, his mind was filled with thoughts of Emily.

He knew he couldn't find her. But if he went back to the Rivera manor.it would be even more impossible to sense any trace of Emily. It was better to stay at the Green Forest apartment. At least, her tears were most visible here.

Before he knew it, he was back at Maple Peak Apartments, where they had shared so many intimate moments. And finally met Emily as he wished.

Patrick looked at Emily, and desire surged in his heart. He didn't want to let her go; he felt like he couldn't live without her. His wound went from a dull ache to a numbness in his shoulder, but he didn't care; he just wanted to hug her tightly.

Seeing Emily no longer resisting, Patrick leaned in and kissed her passionately. At first. Emily resisted, but soon she was lost in the familiar sensation brought by the man she once deeply loved. Then, resentment got the best of her as she wondered, 'Why do you get to treat me like this, showing up only when you feel like it and ditching me when you're done?'

As she tried to break free, Patrick mistook her resistance for desire and

kissed her even more intensely. Holding her tightly, he led her to their familiar place of intimacy.

Emily didn't know what to do, torn between her love for Patrick and the pain he had caused her. Patrick held Emily tightly, his mind filled with thoughts of possession.

Throwwn onto the soft bed. Emily knew what was coming. Surprisingly.a flicker of anticipation sparked within her. longing for the intimacy that was uniquely theirs. But then she thought. 'Emily, are you nuts? Are you really missing this jerk? Don't let blind love mess with your head.Have you forgotten Patrick was just here with Shirley?

Just as Patrick lunged, Emily turned and dodged him.

Patrick's eyes locked onto her, his dissatisfied gaze like a predator eyeing its prey, ready to pounce.

"Why are you dodging me?" Patrick's deep voice filled the room, carrying an undeniable authority. His eyes bore into Emily, showing a mix of displeasure and confusion.

"I don't want to. Patrick." Emily lifted her head, her eyes shining with fearless determination, though inside she felt a subtle panic. She tried to sound firm to mask her unease, not wanting to show weakness in front of him.

"Do I need your permission now? Do you think you have a say in this?"Patrick said, his brows furrowing slightly, a hint of annoyance crossing his face. He was used to being in control, and Emily's rejection caught him off guard.fueling his frustration.

"Dirty." Emily lowered her head, her voice soft but firm. She couldn't meet

Patrick's eyes, feeling oppressed by his presence

"You think I'm dirty?" Patrick's anger flared at her words. Dropping to one knee, he grabbed Emily's neck, a rough gesture tinged with possessiveness. Emily had no choice but to lift her head, her face blushing.a mix of pitiful beauty and stubbornness.

"Who's really dirty? Don't you know? You've been with Marlon. You even reminded me." Patrick grabbed her shoulders, his eyes flashing with anger. He lifted her and headed straight for the bathroom. his steps urgent and forceful.

Emily clung to the door frame, writhing frantically. "Let me go. Patrick, don't go crazy." Unsure of his intentions, she was enveloped in struggle.

With his head lowered. Patrick used his head to steady Emily's wildly swaying body. "Just two days after you left me, you're already resisting my touch. How dare you say you haven't betrayed me?" Patrick's voice trembled, laced with hoarseness. And there was even a hint of grievance. But the panicked Emily didn't notice any of it.
