Chapter 141
"That's my granddaughter!" Caleb was overjoyed as if he were watching a thrilling wrestling match.
Matthew and Michael were relieved that it was not Nuella who had been knocked down instead.
"Now it's time to move on to the next stage," Caleb grinned.
Back to the ladies
Lily bent down and stared at the unconscious Arina lying on the ground. This was just the beginning.
She had hit Arina so hard that she was almost unrecognizable.
Soon, some of her grandfather's men rushed to her side after they had finished fighting off the men who had come with Arina.
"Ma'am, are you okay..." one of the men began to ask. but stopped mid-sentence when he saw the person on the ground was Arina, and that the madam seemed perfectly fine without a single scratch. They all sighed in relief.
"What do you want us to do with her, ma'am?"
"Carry her and bring her along," Lily ordered.
Lily began walking toward the next location, and the men followed her.carrying Arina.
The men Arina had brought with her were lying unconscious nearby, their bodies tied with chains to prevent them from escaping when they woke up.
Lily made her way to a wide open field deep in the woods. The place had once been covered in thick bushes, but she had ensured it was cleared to make room for what was about to happen.
She glanced around, noticing that all the hidden cameras had been perfectly positioned.
"Place her here," Lily instructed, and the men dropped Arina onto a bed of sand.
"Give me the injection," she commanded, and one of the men handed her a syringe.
Without hesitation, she injected Arina with it. This injection would make her wake up in about five minutes.
Caleb, who was watching all of this from a secret basement, could tell that the interesting part was about to begin. He wanted Carolina to witness what was going to happen.
"Hasn't her mother woken up yet?"
"She might have."
"Bring her here; I want her to witness what's about to unfold." Caleb said with a smirk.
The men hurried to the room where Carolina had been kept sleeping, only to find that she had already woken up, confused about her surroundings.
"You're up," one of the men said.
"Who are you, and where am I?" Carolina demanded.
"You'll find out where you are soon," one of the bodyguards replied before
dragging her out of the room and taking her to where Caleb and the others were.
"Who are you? Let go of me, young man!" Carolina screamed.
Caleb turned when he heard her voice.
Carolina fell silent when she saw Caleb. She recognized him immediately. There was no one in A City who didn't know Caleb Blake-the ruthless old man who was the chairman of the Blake Empire.
But she couldn't understand why they were holding her there or why Caleb Blake was involved.
"You must have some questions. Come, have a seat. The show is about to get even more interesting," he said, looking at the screen. Carolina's gaze shifted to the monitor, and she gasped when she saw her daughter lying on a bed in the middle of the forest, bathed in light. Lily stood close to her.Her daughter had bruises on her face.
"So, Lily was the person she was coming to meet," Carolina thought to herself. But why? That was something she still couldn't figure out.
"You should sit down if you want an explanation," Caleb said.
Carolina walked towards the chair near Caleb and sat down, her gaze fixed on him, waiting for an explanation.
"So here's the story," Caleb began, making sure to tell Carolina everything that Arina had done, backed up by proof. By the time he finished.Carolina was crying. Her fears had come true. She had suspected that her daughter was behind many of the things that had happened, but she hadn't known it was this bad. Now Lily was getting her revenge.
"Don't cry just yet, madam. You should wait a little while longer, because in about half an hour, you'll be crying a bucket," Caleb said seriously. "That is, after your daughter confesses with her own mouth everything she has done."
But Carolina kept crying.
"You should be glad we haven't killed her yet. But just so you know, she's going to jail." Caleb added with-a deadly expression that made Carolina shiver.
Caleb was right. She needed to wait for her daughter to confess her crimes.So. at that thought, Carolina wiped her tears and sat up straight to watch what was about to unfold.
Back in the forest,
Lily saw that ten minutes had passed, so she grabbed a bottle of water, opened it, and poured it on Arina to wake her up.
Arina's eyes shot open. She gasped for air and looked around, realizing she was lying on a bed placed on the sand. She glanced around more carefully and saw Lily standing nearby.
"You're finally awake. Now we can get to the real business," Lily said with a smile.
"Don't worry about your men," she added, "I made sure they were beaten and tied up."
Arina was shocked. She no longer had any backup. This meant Lily was going to kill her for real. But even with that knowledge. Arina smiled and got up to face Lily.
Lily smiled in response. "I love your courage."
Arina stood up, closing the distance between them. "Do your worst," she challenged.
"Of course, I will," Lily replied calmly as she walked to a chair not far from them and sat down.
Arina crossed her arms, glarng at her.
"Take a seat," Lily said, as one of her grandfather's men brought a chair for Arina.
"Thank you," Arina said without fear. She had no regrets for what she had done. If she had the chance, she would kill Lily right now. Despite Lily having beaten her in their previous fight and knocking her unconscious,Arina was not afraid of her. She would never be afraid of Lily-over her dead body would she fear her.
"You made a mistake by daring to go against me and my family," Lily said.her voice cold.
Arina rolled her eyes. "If I get the opportunity, I'll do even worse, Lily.Don't test me."
Lily clenched her fist, feeling the urge to hit Arina right then, but decided to remain calm. What she wanted now was for Arina to confess her crimes in her own words.
"Tell me, Arina. I want to hear the story of how you met Alexander," Lily demanded.
Arina relaxed against the chair, excited to tell the story. She shared everything with Lily, who listened carefully.
"You see, Lily, I love Alexander so much that I'd do anything for him.You can call it obsession if you want to."
"So,you're so obsessed with Alexander that you were willing to kilI anyone who got in the way. You knew he was happily married and already had a child, but you still tried to destroy his family. You tried to kill me and my daughter."
Arina let out an evil laugh. "Ha ha ha ha."
"Yeah, Lily, what really pains me is that you're still alive. If I had my way,I'd kill you right now, and that way, Alexander would finally look my way.
Lily smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
Unbeknownst to Arina, hidden cameras were broadcasting everything live on all channels across the country. Her grandfather had arranged for every TV station to air it at that very moment.
People walking the streets and sitting in their homes all over the country, even on social media, were watching the broadcast in shock. Many gasped when Arina admitted that she had tried to kill Lily and would even kill her if given the chance.
Carolina, who was watching this from the secret hideout, had her hand covering her mouth. Although Caleb had already told her everything her daughter had done, hearing it directly from Arina's own mouth was even more shocking. What hurt her most was that Arina showed no remorse. In fact, she was determined tokill Lily if she had the chance.
Caleb, on the other hand, was satisfied. Seeing Arina finally admit to her wrongdoings pleased him.
If Arina had known that the entire country was watching, she would have kept her mouth shut.
Meanwhile, Alexander had long arrived in the area where Lily's phone was located, but he couldn't pinpoint exactly where she was in the woods. There were too many bushes and tall trees around. He suspected the tracker might have detected an incorrect location. He had called home to check if Lily and his daughter had arrived, but was told they hadn't. His men working on the Blake house also confirmed that Lily had not arrived, and his daughter was still inside.
Alexander kept wondering whether she was somewhere in the forest or somewhere else when he saw the live video of Arina admitting that she would kill Lily.
Alexander froze, watching the video. His anger was undeniable, and he felt as though he might tear Arina apart if she were near him. He looked around, unsure of where to go.
From the video, it was clear that they were in the forest, but where exactly,he couldn't figure out.
"So Arina has been behind everything that's been happening?" Ethan asked in shock.
"I should have known," Alexander growled, his teeth gritted.
Seeing Alexander's expression, Ethan realized he was ready to kill Arina if she were in front of him at that moment.
"I think we should stay calm. Looks like Lily is handling everything just fine," Ethan said, but immediately regretted it as Alexander grabbed him by the throat.
"Say that again," Alexander's eyes burned with rage.
Ethan tried to speak but couldn't.
"You mean I should just sit here and do nothing while Lily is out there with Arina, who has already tried to kill her?!" Alexander shouted.
"Over my dead body will I stay here and just watch this on live TV."
