Chapter 42

"Really? Well, let's see if you can stop me."

Emily stood up, showing no sign of panic, and even dared to throw out a challenge. "Mr. Reyes, I hope you won't regret this."

With that, she turned to leave.

"Stop her!"

Isaac ordered his men.

The men were too scared to move, feeling extremely uneasy.

Isaac should have known better. If he didn't dare to touch her, she must have some extraordinary skills.

Why was Isaac still so impulsive?

"Mr. Reyes, maybe you should calm down and have a proper talk with Ms. Johnson!"

"Get lost, you traitor." Isaac kicked the man over and dialed Dax and security.

Soon,people arrived.

Emily raised her phone. "If you try to stop me, I'll call the police."

Seeing his men blocking the office door, Isaac wasn't afraid anymore. He sneered, "I've had the signal blocked.Do you think your call will go through?"

He finished speaking and looked at Emily, waiting to see fear on her face. But Emily just smiled. "Really? Then your signal blocker is pretty useless."

She pressed the emergency call button and put it on speaker.

Soon,the call connected.

"Hang up! Hang up!"

Isaac's face changed. He couldn't understand how she did it.

"Now, can we talk properly? Or should I remind you that you might start feeling weak and unable to stand?"

She didn't need to say it.

As soon as she did, Isaac actually felt it.

At first, he told himself it was just psychological.

But soon, his hands started trembling, followed by his legs.

He stumbled and fell into a chair.

"What did you do? Poison? Do you realize this could land you in jail?" Isaac was still struggling, but his face was pale, clearly unsure.

"You tried to capture me and take photos. I'm not afraid. Besides, they won't find anything."

The man saw Isaac realizing Emily's danger and desperately winked at him.

Surprisingly, Isaac understood.

He slumped on the sofa. "Alright, name your terms." Emily was prepared.

She opened her phone and sent the documents and contract she had ready to Isaac.

Isaac wasn't even shocked that she knew his private email. He opened and read them.

"No way. Byron isn't worth that much. I could just abandon Byron. I'm not too old to train a new heir."

Isaac didn't want to compromise.

Emily hadn't expected to threaten him with only poison from the very beginning.

She was just stating facts.′′For your information, while your age doesn't affect fertility, your health does. If any of your mistresses claim to be pregnant, get a paternity test."

Having seen her silent drugging, Isaac strangely believed her.

Emily gave Isaac time to think.

"I can give you shares, half of Byron's shares, as medical expenses. But why do you want to lead the Johnson Group project?"

Could it be she wanted to prove to the Johnson family she was capable?

No matter how strong she was, she was still a girl longing for love.

If Byron could charm her...

Isaac's eyes gleamed.

"That's none of your business! If you agree, print the documents and contract, sign them, and I'll go treat Byron immediately." Emily didn't care what Isaac was planning, as long as it didn't affect her interests.

But her patience was limited, and it showed on her face. "You have five minutes to decide,"

Isaac was furious.

In the end, he had to compromise and then called his assistant in. "Print these documents and the contract and bring them in."

"Yes, sir!" Dax expected a fierce fight.

But the office was suddenly quiet.

When called in, it was surprisingly peaceful.

He was shocked, suppressing his curiosity, and quickly printed the documents.

"Now, can you make me feel normal again?" Isaac's hands were still trembling.

Emily approached, pressed a spot on his neck, and flicked her fingers.

Isaac smelled a faint fragrance and instinctively took a deep breath.

His hands quickly returned to normal.

Having witnessed her mysterious skills, Isaac's attitude softened.

"Sit and wait. Once the contract is signed, you'll come with me to the Reyes Villa to treat Byron!" Isaac said.

Emily didn't respond immediately, but asked, "Mr. Reyes, how did you know I went to the school? Did Bianca tell you?" Isaac's eyes flickered. "Your father couldn't reach you, so I had others keep an eye out. I heard you were good to Bianca, so I thought I could get clues from her. It worked."

Emily was amused by Isaac's shamelessness.

He wanted to see her and Bianca fight.

But he didn't need to bother.

Bianca wouldn't stop causing trouble.

She and Bianca were destined to be at odds.

In this life, she would slowly destroy everything Bianca prided herself on. The more Bianca feared something.the more she would do it.

Soon,the assistant brought the documents.

Both parties quickly signed the contract.

Dax couldn't stop glancing at Emily.

He had seen the harsh terms of the contract and wondered what Emily did to make Isaac agree.

But no matter how long he looked, he wouldn't find the answer.

"Let's go treat Byron!" Isaac said eagerly.

Emily nodded and got up to leave.

Seeing the caller, he instinctively straightened up and answered with a respectful smile, "What can E do for you?"

Emily paused.

She turned to see Isaac's obsequious demeanor.

Her eyes flashed with curiosity. Who was on the other end?

Someone who could make Isaac act like this.

"Yes,yes, I'll come down to greet you. No need, I'll have someone let you in."

Isaac wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead, nodded, and hung up.

He immediately called the internal line.

Then he had Dax quickly tidy the office while he fixed his clothes and hair.

After all that, he hurried out, seemingly to greet someone.

As he passed Emily, he remembered her.

"Emily, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait a bit. You can wait in the lounge."

He couldn't focus on Emily now, so he quickly left for the elevator.

Emily didn't go to the lounge but followed him to the elevator out of curiosity.

Just as she arrived, the elevator doors opened.

Emily looked up and saw Daniel's sharp, handsome face.

Just then, Isaac's phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat!

What was he doing here?
