Chapter 49
"Hello, Mr. Reyes, we got the person you asked for downstairs.
Should I bring them up now?
The man, hearing Emily's instructions, didn't dare to hesitateand immediately dialed Isaac's number.
Isaac frowned, "Why'd you bring them here without checkingin first?"
The man replied nervously, "Sorry, Mr. Reyes, but this personhas a really bad temper.
He wasn'texactly lying.
Emily was probably a proud and fiery person by nature.
After speaking, he sneaked a glance at Emily. Seeing no changein her expression, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright, alright, bring them up. Take them to the waitingroom first."
Isaac replied impatiently.
After hanging up, he arranged for his assistant to greet themand allowed the man in the T-shirt to bring Emily upstairsdirectly.
Isaac was confident that Emily had likely been forced to takecompromising photos, so she wouldn't dare to speak out.
The man, having received confirmation, immediately informedEmily
Emily then got out of the car and walked straight into FortuneTower.
The man hurried to follow, leaving his entourage waiting in thecar downstairs. This was his way of ensuring that if anythinghappened, they would still have a chance to escape.
Thanks to Isaac's assistant, they encountered no obstacles.
Emily reached the sixteenth floor and, as soon as she steppedout of the elevator, she began to act uncontrollably.
When the assistant led her towards the waiting room, sheheaded straight for the CEO's office.
"Hey, miss, the waiting room is this way. Mr. Reyes is currentlybusy and needs you to wait... Hey, slow down!" The assistantdidn't expect Emily to move so quickly.
Before he could finish his reminder, Emily had already walkedseveral feet away, almost reaching Isaac's office.
When Emily's hand was on the door handle, the assistant'sface turned pale with fear.
Isaac was "very busy" at the moment, and any interruptioncould spell trouble for him.
"Stop!" The assistant shouted urgently.
Instantly, everyone in the CEO's office froze and looked in hisdirection.
Despite this, Emily's actions didn't stop.
The assistant's face turned even paler as he turned to the man.'Who is this girl? How could you let her act so recklessly here'Make her stop immediately."
The man could only shrug helplessly and continue followingEmily.
Soon, he understood why the assistant was so panicked.
'Get out! Who let you in?"
As the office door opened, a woman with a bare upper bodywas sitting in the lap of a middle-aged man.
The man's shirt was half-open
It was clear what was happening here
The woman screamed in shock at the sudden intrusion. quicklgot up from Isaac's lap, grabbed her clothes, and turned herback to Emily and the others to get dressed.
Isaac, almost losing his composure due to the interruption, angrily cursed without caring who had entered.
Emily, unfazed, calmly walked in and found a seat. "l heardMr. Reves wanted to see me? Are you planning to talk to medressed like that?'
Her tone was casual, with a hint of indifference.
There was no trace of shyness.
Isaac knew of Emily, but he had always heard she was a timid.
insecure, and foolish girl picked up from the streets
Seeing her now, he realized the rumors might be false.
Isaac glared at the assistant who had entered after Emily, thenbegan to put on his clothes.
The woman, now dressed, hurriedly left the room under Issaacs order without looking at anyone.
I saac turned to his assistant, "Dax, get out and close the door!
Isaac cleared the room, then leaned back in his chair, hands onthe armrests, lazily observing Emily.
You've certainly surprised me. You should know why Iwanted to see you, right?"
Isaac's eyes flashed with anger as he thought of Byron'sexcruciating pain.
Initially, he thought Byron was faking it to force him to dealwith Emily.
But after several days of Byron writhing in pain, visibly losingweight, and his cheekbones protruding, he believed Byron wastruly suffering.
He had no idea what Emily had done, and even doctors couldnt figure it out.
"Of course! I know what you want, Mr. Reyes, but it seemsyou don't know what I want." Emily replied sweetly, with asmile.
Isaac felt a twinge of fear.
Something was off about Emily's attitude. Any other girl in hersituation would be panicking.
Isaac shot a sharp look at the man, silently asking what wasgoing on.
'You don't need to glare at him. If Mr. Reves wants to talkbusiness, why make it so complicated? I don't appreciate yourmethods. So,the upcoming negotiations might cost you.
Emily answered Isaac's unspoken question.
Isaac understood.
The photos hadn't worked, and now she had come to confronthim directly.
He cursed the man for being useless, unable to handle one girldespite having a team of skilled fighters.
Isaac's expression hardened, and he sat up straight.
abandoning his previous laziness.
He picked up a pen from the desk, seemingly playing with it.
"What did you do to Byron? Tell me your terms as long asyou make him recover, and I'll meet them. He's my only sonset to inherit the Reyes Group. I'll fulfill any reasonable
condition.
Isaac's tone softened, becoming unusually agreeable.
The change was so sudden that the man beside him noticedand glanced at him twice.
Emily chuckled innocently,"Mr. Reyes, I don't understandwhat you're saying.I heard Byron wasn't well, and since youhave a partnership with the Johnson family, I thought I'd offermy medical expertise. As for terms, it's just the medical fee."
She glanced at the pen in Isaac's hand.
It wasn't an ordinary pen but a recording device
Issaac seemed to be playing with the pen, but he was actuallyrecording everything.
Though it seemed casual, Emily had seen it before in her pastlife. She noticed the brief flash of red light.
She wouldn't fall for it easily.
If she had agreed to lsaac's terms and if she didn't treat Byrontoday, she could be accused of multiple crimes
Isaac, seeing she wasn't falling for it, grew angry
He slammed his hand on the desk, glaring at Emily, "Youtricked my men into not taking your photos. I'll call that asmart move. But you are stupid enough to show your face herein our territory. If you don't treat Byron today, you won'tmake it out of the Reyes Group!'
