Chapter 54

What is going on with them? They all thought. Gloria stared at Nathan and Hilda who seemed to be having fun as she stepped on him. She clenched her fists with envy evident in her eyes.

Samuel pulled Christopher to one side and told him about who Hilda was to Nathan. He looked at Samuel like he was about to cry and asked. "Why didn't you tell me about it earlier? I nearly walked into the lion's den."

"I tried to tell you but you weren't getting any of my hints."Samuel replied. That was when Christopher recalled that Samuel was trying to send him signals with his eyes but he thought something was wrong with his eyes.

In his mind he thought, 'What is wrong with Samuel's eyes? I might as well just finish my dance and ask him.' Thinking about it now, he knew he was dump to have thought that there was something really wrong with Samuel's eyes after all he was a doctor.

He turned to look at Hilda and Nathan who were still dancing it off on the stage and sighed. 'I would have been cut into pieces if I was to be the one dancing with Hilda now.' He thought.

Hilda who was still stepping on Nathan came to her senses after Nathan whispered in her ears. "There are people watching you. You can continue if you want." She froze before regaining her composure.

The music came to an end after some time. As they walked down the center stage, Gloria hurriedly walked to Nathan and held his hand. "How about you dance with me now?"

Nathan frowned and shook his head before saying coldly."I am tired."

Gloria had already expected this out come. She knew there was no way Nathan would make her happy. Her gaze landed on Hilda and she thought. 'It is all because of thisb∗tch!Who does she think she is? Just becausethe big four favors her she think she would be able to get close to Nathan.'

She then switched sides and stood in between Nathan and Hilda. Pushing Hilda away from Nathan. Hilda frowned at this but didn't show her displeasure.

Hilda smile and thought. 'I am really a fool.' After that she picked a glass of wine from a tray when a waiter passed by her and downed it in a gulp.

She then walked to Samuel and they began cracking jokes. A moment later, they heard Nathan's cold voice behind them. "I would be right back. You have some fun."

With that said, he walked away with Gloria still holding onto his arms like a koala holding onto a tree. Looking at their back,she saw Nathan and Gloria talking as they entered into one of the rooms.

Hilda stared at the door for what seemed like ages, but after twenty minutes or so, neither of them left the room.

She hesitated about walking over and knocking on the door but to her surprise, Samuel handed her a glance of champagne."Here." Samuel said.

It was pitch dark outside. Deafening music echoed around the island. And the thumping could be heard. Tons of celebrities undulated on the dance floor, hypnotized by the pulsing beats and pleasure.

Hilda took a look at the door where Nathan and Gloria had been in before taking the champagne from Samuel. "Thanks."

Her mind was millions of miles away thinking about what Nathan and Gloria were doing in that room that they were still not out. She thought. 'What are they doing in the room? Or I am being paranoid?'

Like a mind reader, Samuel leaned in and whispered in Hilda's ears. "You are not being paranoid. You just have to watch out for Gloria."

Before Hilda could say any thing, Samuel smiled and turned to have a chat with a friend who was currently engaging him in a conversation.

Hilda looked at the closed odor again and downed the glass of champagne. She then turned to Samuel. "I would be on the dance floor."

Samuel nodded and Hilda walked onto the dance floor. Once on the dance floor, Hilda shifted from the gentle,quiet and young girl into a hottie, seductive queen. She shimmied and

stepped in time to the music.

Because she wasn't the shy young woman anymore as she couldn't stop shaking and twerking it off on the dance floor.

Samuel who was looking at her was slowly mesmerized by her moves on the dance floor. He thought, Wooh, she is such a hottie."

Hilda who was dancing was completely hypnotized by the beat that she didn't notice that time had fled.

After a long time, she came back and stood beside Samuel with her spirits liftened but then she didn't notice Nathan.

She turned to Samuel and asked. "Nathan is still not out?"

Although she had a clear idea about the answer she was about to receive, she was a little optimistic that he wouldn't be in the room still.

But to her surprise, Samuel shook his head. "He is still not out.11

Hilda was getting agitated as she looked at the door that has been closed for God knows how long.

She looked at Samuel and asked."Can I go in there?"

Samuel shook his head. "Mrs. Clemon, I don't think it is a good idea."

He didn't know what Nathan and Gloria were doing room.

Although he wasn't thinking too far, he was sure he didn't want Hilda to see something that she wouldn't want to see.

"Let's wait for a little while. If they still don't come out, we can go in by then." Samuel added.

Hilda didn't want to wait any longer as the longer she stayed about, she knew they would be spending more timne together alone in the room.

After some few minutes, Nathan came out followed by Gloria who has a blush on her face. When Hilda caught sight of her husband, she frowned. She looked at him and felt like he looked different. Taking a closer look at Nathan's shirt, she noticed a lipstick stain on his collar. Hilda's blood began to boil at the sight.

It was a red lipstick stain and she turned to look at Gloria who was now wearing a pink lip gloss. Earlier before they arrived at the venue, at the harbor, Hilda recalled seeing Gloria with a red lip stick on so why is she wearing a pink one now.

Wild thoughts began going on in her mind as she thought about the number of hours they had been behind the door and what they have been up to.

Looking at how Gloria was blushing and the glow on her face coupled by the lipstick stain on Nathan's shirt and Gloria's new lip gloss, Hilda felt the urge to beat someone.

Looking around, she knew it would be a bad idea so she managed to keep her emotions in check before she turned to

Samuel and ignored Nathan. She voiced out a little loudly so Nathan could hear. "Samuel, I'm really tired. I want to go home."

Samuel turned to look at Nathan and then Gloria and then he also had the same thought. What the hell? Did Nathan actually make out with Gloria inthere?' Thinking about this,he understood why Hilda wanted to go home.

He turned to look at his watch and checked the time. It was past midnight. "Nathan, you leaving anytime soon?" He asked Nathan after Hilda said she wanted to go home and that she was tired.

Nathan nodded.

They then bid their fare well to the birthday celebrant and the other's they were familiar with. By the time they were ready to leave back home, it was past one am. Samuel joined Nathan's convoy this time around as Hilda held onto him and asked him to stay.

They all boarded the chopper and headed back together with Gloria still clinging onto Nathan. After a long ride, they finally got to the harbor and entered the ship back to X country.
