Chapter 56

Hilda completely disregarded Nathan who was driving.She

closed her eyes and feigned sleeping. Arriving at home,immediately Nathan parked the car and turned off the engine,Hilda got down and walked into the house without looking

back.

Nathan stared at her back and frowned as he thought. 'This woman is such a headache. What am I suppose to do now?'

Eager to talk to her, Nathan followed her upstairs only to reach the bedroom and saw her walking out with a quilt and a pillow. She walked past him and entered the guest room shutting the door close.

Nathan stood there with a solemn expression on after the door was shut contemplating whether to let her be or talk it out with her. After some time he decided to talk it out with her.He walked towards the guest room door and pushed it open only to realize that it had been locked from inside.

He then knocked but there was no response. He knocked for some time more but there was still no response. He even tried to turn the door knob forcefully but it was a futile attempt.Frustrated, he checked the time and noticed it was three am.

Looking at the shut door one more time, Nathan resigned to the master's bedroom. He thought, 'Since it is late I might as well just let her rest. She might not be in a mood to talk to me at this time but hopefully, I'm sure she would be in a mood

after she has a good night sleep.'

With that thought in mind, Nathan walked back into the master's bedroom. In the master's bedroom,he took his shower before plumping on to his bed but he couldn't sleepno matter how hard he tried to justify him self about Hilda being mad at him.

Unable to sleep on the matter, he called Samuel and wanted to know what happened at the party after he left with Gloria into the room. And also told him about how Hilda had been in a bad mood since they came back, and how she had left for the guest room hoping that he could help him indicate what could have triggered her bad mood.

But Nathan left out some important part like how Gloria took the front seat and how he accompanied Gloria into her house and helped her out with a business proposal that she needed to submit earlier the next day.

As Samuel knew that NNathan didn't like Gloria and was disgusted by him, he didn't quiet understand what Nathan and Gloria had been doing behind the closed door at the party so he asked. "Bro, you and Gloria behind the close door at the party, did you two really.."

As Nathan caught the meaning behind his words, his gaze darkened and his voice turned colder. He then called out his name with an icy tone."Samuel!"

Samuel who was currently lying in bed felt shivers down his

spine when he heard Nathan yell his name with that icy voice."I didn't mean that." He said timidly.

Nathan asked indifferently."Did someone offend her on the island?"

Samuel thought back and shook his head. "No, not sure." He was sure no one would want to offend Hilda as they saw her walking with him into the venue. No one in their right mad would want to offend Samuel as they knew stepping on Samuel s toes meant inviting the wrath of thebig four.

Nathan thought for a while and said. "I don't really know what it is but I am sure it has got something to do with Gloria."He still recalled how Hilda had yelled angrily at him on the phone after he came back from Gloria's apartment.

"Oh, then I guess she is jealous. She has read too much meaning into the relationship between you and Gloria I guess.Just explain everything to her tomorrow morning and I'm sure she would understand. It's just her misunderstanding what's going on between Gloria and you." Samuel told him.

"I did. I did tell her that there is nothing between Gloria and I and that she is my ex- fiancée. If it hadn't been my grandpa who asked me to go to the party with her, I wouldn't have even let her any where closer to me." Nathan said feeling down.

"And then?" Samuel asked.

"She didn't say anything. She just went into the guest room and locked it without wanting to talkto me." Nathan replied

in a dejected tone.

It amused Samuel as to how a girl like Hilda was able to be a threat to the all knowing cold and aloof CEO. It was beyond his imagination that a woman would be able to give the indifferent CEO a sleepless night yet here they were,awake in the middle of the night mulling over the fact about why Hilda was mad.

Although Samuel started having wild guesses about how Hilda was being unreasonable, he knew within him that, Hilda wouldn't be that unreasonable. From their interactions earlier at the party, he knew Hilda had a thing for Nathan so being unreasonable wouldn't be the point unless...

Thinking about this Samuel giggled. "Buddy, I think she is the possessive type. She is jealous about the interaction between you and your ex- fiancée that is why she is angry. She wants you for just herself."

Hearing this, Nathan thought it made sense too but he didn't know how to respond to that. 'Has Hilda fallen in love with me?' He wondered.

Samuel who was on the line wondered why he had gone silent all of a sudden. "Bro, you there?"

Nathan snapped back to reality and said in a cold voice. "Hmm,it's late. Get some sleep." With that he hung up on Samuel still wondering if Hilda had fallen in love with him.

Samuel who was lying down on his bedH looked at his phone

after hearing the beeping sound. "So much for you to call me in the middle of the night. You are welcome." He murmured to himself. After that he fell on the bed and fell back asleep.
