Chapter 61

"Wait. Just let me get off here at the roadside." Hilda said. She didn't intend to see Gloria or intend to stop Nathan from going.

Nathan looked at her and sensed the change in her mood but he didn't know what she was unhappy about. "Pumpkin, if those tailing Gloria get their hands on her, it would be very bad." He explained patiently.

But Hilda didn't reply to him. She just asked him to go alone."I know. But it would be bad for me to tag along. Don't you think so? What if I slow you down?" She tried to explain.

Hearing what she said made sense, Nathan brought the car to a stop as he watch her get a cab. "Be careful out there. I would be back soon." He said before driving off to the location he received.

When he arrived at the location, he noticed that a car was going after Gloria's car at top speed, but her body guards were trying their best to loose it. He stepped on the gas pedal as he speed towards the direction of the unknown car.

He rammed his car into the back of the car following Gloria's car. He then stepped on the brakes as he slowed down making a creaking sound. The unknown car which suffered the hit summersaulted and came to her stop abruptly and completely caved in as it crashed into a pit by the side of the road.

Following that, two men each barely recognizable as they both

had blood spilling from the head wriggled their way out of the caved in car. They both had wounds on their bodies as the crash was really fatal.

Nathan got out of his car and walked towards the car that had fallen into the pit. Noticing that the car had stopped tailing them, Gloria and the other bodyguards were baffled to see Nathan as they turned back.

"Nathan? What's he doing here?" Gloria hadshock written all over her face when she saw Nathan. "Stop the car!" She ordered immediately.

"But ma'am, they..." The driver tried to sound her out as it would be bad if things go south but Gloria yelled at him furiously even before he could finish his sentence. "I said stop the car!"

Gloria ran out of the car as soon as it came to a halt. "Nathan!Nathan!" She yelled his name as she run towards his direction.

Nathan turned and stared at her who was running towards him and frowned. "Don't come any closer."He ordered coldly.

Gloria halted her steps after hearing his cold tone. What did he mean by I should not come any closer. She was confused but thinking about the situation at hand, she understood.

Nathan didn't want her getting into danger. She thought to herself.

They looked at the damaged car and looked to each other

before taking to their heels. Nathan who was almost close to the car cursed under his breathe."D*mn it!" But before he could do anything. the car exploded catching fire immediately.

"No!" Gloria shouted when she heard the explosion. She covered her mouth with her hand and tried to run towards the direction where Nathan was before the explosion happened but her bodyguards held onto her.

"Let me go! Nathan! Let me go!" She yelled as tears streamed down her face. "Nathan! Nathan!"

"Ma'am.come down! Mr. Clemon would be fine. As you can see the fire is still blazing. You can't go in there now." The bodyguard explained.

"But..., but..., Nathan? No, no, no. Nathan would be fine. I know he would be. She mumbled under her breathe.

Meanwhile in an abandoned factory in the outskirt of town,a man in an all black suit with a mask on shouted at two men who were currently kneeling in front of him in an intimidating voice. "How could you let such a thing happen? I told you to just bring the woman and you couldn't fulfill such a simple task?"

"Boss, we didn't know the driver of her car was such a skillful driver. We tried our..." One of the men kneeling tried to explain the turns of event but was cut off even before he could.

"Shut up! I don't want to know how useless of a driver you are. Are you sure you left no clues behind?" The man with the

mask on asked.

"No we didn't." The man who was cut off earlier hurriedly answered.

"What about the other two who were left in the car?"

"Boss, the car exploded with them still being in it. So yes,everything is clean. We didn't leave any traces as they ain't from this country either. They are refugees." The other guy who was kneeling replied.

"Okay. That's good! But what about Mr. Clemon?" The man with the mask on continued asking.

"He tried getting closer to the car before the explosion took place. I ain't too sure but I'm sure he won't be able to appear unscathed for now."

"I said I wvanted him dead not unscathed. I would send the remaining money into your accounts. You should hurry and leave the country as soon as possible. I would get in touch with you when I want to."

With that said, the man with the mask on turned around and walked out of the factory.

Hilda who just got home and was playing with her phone had a bad feeling surfacing within her. She was feeling rather anxious all of a sudden that she could not explain.

Why am I feeling this way?' She frown as she thought about it.

She got up and walked towards the kitchen. She poured her self a glass of water but before she could take a sip, the glass fell from her hand hitting the ground and shattered into pieces.

She looked at the shattered glass as uneasiness started creeping inside of her. She had a bad feeling within her as if something bad was about to happen. Then she turned and looked around the kitchen.

Why am I feeling this way? No! No! No! Nathan...' She then shook her head. Why am I thinking about something like this had this time. Nathan is just going to... it then dawned on her.He is going to save his ex- fiancee and here I am thinking something might be wrong.

Hah!

She then swept the broken glasses and mobbed the floor before heading upstairs totake a shower.
