Chapter 58

Nathan frowned when he heard what Hilda just said.He looked up the figure running up the stairs and chased after her.Immediately he caught up with her at the door, Hilda slammed it shut almost hitting his face.

He gritted his teeth and called out Hilda's name in an icy tone."Hilda Adams!"

At this time, Hilda had slump down the door and was crying.Tears were pouring out her eyes as she thought about the file Nathan had given her. 'I am a fool to have believed him.He deceived me. He told me there was nothing like divorce unless I bring it up but here he is with the divorce.'

Hilda cried her heart out without paying any heed to all the warning Nathan was shouting out at the door. After being lock behind the door for time, Nathan decided to go for the spare key and open the guest door by himself.

He went into the master's bedroom and was about to take out the spare room door key when he frowned. 'Why is she so unreasonable? I did everything I could for her only for her not to appreciate. She didn't even open the file.' Thinking about this Nathan took out his phone and called Samuel. "Let's meet up at the usual place."

Samuel was astonished when he heard Nathan but before he could say anything, Nathan hung up. He had just walked out of an operation when he received the call. He walked into his

office and got change before calling Kyle and Christopher to join them at their usual place.

Hilda who had cried for a long time till her voice became hoarse stood up from the floor around dinner time. When she stood up, she looked up at the house she was in and tears tried streaming down her face again.

To her, happiness wasn't meant for her. How could 'God' be so cruel to her. She didn't know what she did to deserve this. She was betrayed by her sister and fiancée. Just when she thought she had found someone else she could rely on, she was about to lose him too.

She never intended to fall in love with Nathan but being by his side for the past few months, his actions warmed her heart that she had almost already gotten over Daniel. Their marriage didn't even last for three months and he already wants to go back to his ex-fiancée.

The family which she knew as hers, turned out to be another family who just picked her up after she was abandoned by her biological parents. Why was life being too cruel to her? Was this suppose to be her fate?

But she can't just let Nathan go like she did Daniel. No I can't.

Meanwhile in the VIP room of Kiki Bees Club, Samuel who was sitting across Nathan sighed as he watched him gulp down glass after glass of wine. He had never seen Nathan in such a pathetic state.

Christopher and Kyle were also in the room. Each had a woman in his arms as they enjoyed themselves. Samuel was the only one who knew what was eating Nathan up for him to be in this poignant state.

He sighed before asking. "Are you really going to get drunk because of a woman?"

Nathan remained inert and just gulped down another glass without sparing a single glance at Samuel.

Samuel continued. "You know Hilda..."

The moment Nathan heard Hilda's name, he tightened his grip on his glass. He shot daggers at Samuel and bang the glass on the table. In a cold tone he roared. "I don't want to talk about her!"

When Samuel, Christopher and Kyle together with the ladies heard Nathan's icy roared they became scared stiff. 'D*mn' they all thought. No one dared to make a sound.

Christopher and Kyle immediately saw the seriousness of the matter. At first when Samuel had called them to come out and have a drink at their usual spot, they didn't understand why Nathan would have a drink all of a sudden. But now, looking at how icy his tone was when Samuel mentioned Hilda,they knew it has something to do with Hilda.

They ushered the ladies out and turned to Samuel, looking for answers.

When they heard what Samuel said they both frowned. Who could have thought that Nathan had already developed feelings for Hilda?

"So now why are we here if you don't want to talk about her?"Kyle asked as he took a sip of his wine.

"Yeah. You know, I didn't think Hilda would be that unreasonable maybe there is a misunderstanding." Christopher piped in. Although he hadn't have any interactions with Hilda.from how she looked and what he had heard about her,he didn't think that she would be that unreasonable.

"She is clearly being unreasonable. I even presented her with the fifty one percent shares I bought from the Cross group to her. But you know what she did? She threw it back at me."Nathan said clearly bitter. He had never been this somber even when it came to him losing hundred of millions business transaction.

"Did she open it?" Samuel asked as he didn't understand why Hilda would throw the ownership shares of Cross group back into his hands. Even if she didn't want his money, she had to be grateful.

"She didn't even bother to take a look at what was inside!"Nathan said with a bitter smile. After everything I did. He thought.

"That's why. She might have misunderstood what was inside the file for there was no way she would have reacted that way."

Samuel said. The more he thought about it, the more he thought his guess was right. Because who in their right mind wouldn't be thrilled to received that kind of gift?

Nathan then thought back to how Hilda reacted when she received the file. 'Yes, she might have misunderstood.Because the words she used meant something else.'

"She is just being unreasonable. Let her be. She doesn't even compare to Gloria." The moment Christopher finished his sentence, Nathan's cold gaze fell on him.

"The next time I hear you compare my wife to Gloria again.you wouldn't like it." Nathan said coldly before staggering out of the room shutting the door with a loud bang.
