Chapter 63

Samuel walked out of the operating room with heavy feet and moist eyes. He wanted to stay strong but he knew with how Nathan was and how much blood he had lost, it would only be a miracle which could save him.

"That d*mned woman!" He said through gritted teeth. To him.it was all Hilda's fault as Nathan had passed by the club earlier because of her. No woman had been able to get Nathan to drink that much alcohol like Hilda.

He walked into the corridor and was greeted with the sight of the Clemon family members rushing into the corridor.

Mrs.Leah Clemons was held by her husband as she was crying."I hope Nathan is fine. My dear baby..." She noticed Samuel immediately she finish speaking and rushed to hold onto him.

"Samuel, Nathan would be fine right?" She held onto Samuel's hand while shaking it.

"Tell me something Sammy! My baby would be alright right?"She asked again in between sobs.

She was home after spending the entire day at the hospital with the Patriarch only to receive a call that Nathan had gotten into an accident. She couldn't bring her self to imagine her son being in pain and the thought that she was about to loose her only child.

How she wish she could change their place right now. She

would have wanted to be the one in the operating room and not Nathan.

"Nathan, Nate, Nate..." sobs.

Samuel forced a smile and looked at Mrs. Leah Clemon."Mom.Nathan would be alright. It as just a minor accident. Nothing serious. You know you are not that well at the moment so do not stress yourself. Nathan would be well. The doctors are checking to make sure he didn't get any major injuries."

Mrs. Clemon looked at Samuel and asked. "Are you for real?But the nurse earlier said he was in a serious condition and that he is unconcious and and that that he he..." She couldn't bring herself to continue her sentence.

The nurses from earlier when Mr. and Mrs. Clemon were rushing into the hospital corridor were whispering among themselves when one spoke up. "Mr. Clemon is in a dangerous situation now as he had lost a lot of blood. Only a miracle could save him now."

She didn't dare to believe what the nurses said but when she saw how dejected Samuel was, she knew for a fact that Nathan might be in a serious situation.

Samuel's bitter smile spread to his ears and he said. "Don't pay attention to this nurses. They know nothing. Nathan would be alright."

Samuel laughed in his head as he wanted to believe his own words but he couldn't even do that. He knew these words were

just words of comfort to not only Mrs. Clemon but he wanted to also be comforted by those same words.

'Nathan would be alright.

Mr. Clemon came forward and held onto Mrs. Clemon. "See.Samuel said he would be alright. Calm down. Nathan would be fine."

The other members from the Clemon family all had different wishes in their head. Most of them just wished Nathan wouldn't be able to make it out so they all could have a piece of the Clemon Group.

Hilda who had been feeling uneasiness since earlier was tossing and turning in bed. She took her phone and looked at the time.It was passed mid night and Nathan was still not back.

She then sat on the bed and tried calling his number. She tried for 5 times but still she couldn't reach him. She then stood up and walked to the kitchen to drink water asshe thought.

What at all is Nathan still up to? He should have gotten rid of those after Gloria by now or something bad had happened?.

As she kept thinking about the possibility of something bad happening to Nathan, she could not help but think about the bad premonition she had earlier before she went to take her bath.

'No, no, no! I'm sure Nathan is alright. There is nothing wrong.He might just be late.' She kept comforting herself as she paced back and forth in the living not thinking about taking the water no more.

She proceeded to call his number again but it was still the same magnetic voice. 'The number you have dialed can not be reached. Please call back later.'

She began feeling anxious. She paced back and forth till she couldn't anymore and thought about Samuel. She recalled having received Samuel's number from Nathan who told her anytime she was in trouble and couldn't reach him, she should call Samuel.

She hurriedly dialed Samuel's number.

At this time in the hospital, Samuel who had dropped down on the floor since he came out of the operating room was lifeless as he stared at the operating room door.

It has been two hours and the light outside the operating room was still on. As a doctor himself, he saw the critical condition Nathan was in and he knew that it was only a miracle that could save him now.

He wasn't the one that prays pray but at the moment all he was saying within himself was for God to save Nathan.

'Dear God, please save Nathan.' This sentence was all he had in him.

The corridor was silent as every one had their eyes on the operating door. They all had their wishes as majority didn't want him surviving.

Suddenly, a ring reverberated around the corridor. Everyone turned and looked at Samuel.

He was confused with the gazes on him as he was still lost in thought till Mrs. Leah Clemon called out to him. "Samuel. your phone is ringing."

He snapped back from his daze and walked away from the corridor with his phone. "Excuse me." He took his phone and walked into his office. It was an unknown number. As that was his personal number and not many people knew it, he was surprised by the sudden unknown number.

He hesitated and just hen he was about answering it, the ringing stopped. He slumped down into his chair with teary eyes. But at the next moment, his phone rang again. He looked at the Id and noticed it was the unknown number from before.

He then pressed the answer button and brought the phone to his ears. Before he could say anything, he heard a mild and anxious voice of a woman.

"Hello Samuel... It is me Hilda." Came from the other end.

The moment he heard the voice, Samuel's face immediately contorted into a deep frown. His gaze then darkened and the air around him turned chilly. It had been a while since he had that expression on him but now, that voice on the other line

was able to trigger his furious demeanor.
