Chapter 66

Stanley walked up to Samuel as he was the owner of the place and told him about the plan he had told Hilda earlier.

When Samuel heard what Stanley had said, his face turned cold and with an icy voice he replied. "No way! There is no way I am allowing her to see Nathan."

Stanley was stunned at Samuel's reaction. "B.. Bu... but. she is Mr. Clemon's wwife." He stuttered as he tried to explain to Samuel as he had no idea why Samuel would hate Hilda.

"Wife? Hah. There is no way I would let her see him and that's final." Samuel replied and tried walking away but Stanley held onto him.

"Mr. Fleming, you know Mr. Clemon cherishes Hilda and he wouldn't be happy with this arrangement of yours." Stanley tried to reason with Samuel.

"He wouldn't be happy? He is how he is now because of her.I won't allow her to see him. And if I see her here, you wouldn't be glad about the outcome." Samuel said coldly before storming out.

Stanley became confused at his reaction. 'What did Samuel mean by Mr. Clemon is like this because of Mrs. Clemons?'He tried to reason about it but he couldn't. At this time, he saw Kyle's assistant walking into one of the hospital ward with a file in his hand.

What is Dennis doing here at this time?' He thought. He then followed him into the ward only to be greeted with Kyle and Christopher with serious expressions on as they took turns reading out the content of the file.

"Are you sure about this?" Christopher asked Dennis as he couldn't fathom the meaning of it.

"I'm not certain but that's a clue for now." Dennis replied.

"There must be something wrong. Something isn't right."Christopher said.

Kyle shifted his gaze from Dennis to Stanley who had just entered. "What was your boss up to with the gas pipeline project? What was in for him?" He asked in a cold and indifferent tone.

"I don't know. Why?" Stanley asked.

"Because who ever planned this accident planned it very well.There were no clues and the only clue is Gloria's bodyguards who were also shot at the accident scene. Gloria is also unconscious now so..." Kyle paused and looked at the door with hatred before turning to look at Stanley.

"Keep a close eye on Mr. Richard. Report to me anything he does." He then turned to Dennis. "Check out all his bank transactions and his calls."

"Yes Sir." Dennis replied and was just about to leave the room when he heard Stanley murmuring something to him. "Why is

your boss giving me orders now? I do not work under him you know."

He shook his head and just when he was about to say something,a cold voice was heard. "You got a problem with me ordering you around?"

It belonged to Kyle. Stanley immediately shook his head. "No.No, No. I'm at your service Sir."

Christopher immediately burst out laughing where as Dennis began giggling but a single glance from Kye was all it took for Dennis to shut up.

"You guys should go and do what I asked. The sooner the better." With that he stood up and left the ward.

Samuel who was currently in the operating room looked at Nathan who had been bandage all over with an unreadable expression on. He stood still as he watched him lay lifeless on the operating table with the nurses cleaning him.

He then walked out without saying anything. He needed a smoke.

"Hey, what happened last night with your boss?" Dennis stopped and asked Stanley after they had gotten out of the hospital.

Stanley sighed. "I have no idea."

"Everything seems strange you know?" Dennis raised an eyebrow at Stanley.

"What do you mean?" Stanley who was confused asked.

"I mean that everything looks kind of planned. But what I do not understand is why Miss Gloria was there at that time.Her bodyguards were all shot where as she was the only one surviving without any injuries. Do you think she is cahoots with the person who tried to harm your boss?" Dennis asked.

"What do you mean? I do not think she would do anything to harm my boss as she is in love with him." Stanley rebuked.

"What if she was just pretending? What if..."

"Enough... You have balls to be suspecting Miss Gloria. Wait till the Patriarch hears of this.. We have got an errand to run."Stanley didn't even wait for him to finish and interrupted him.After which he walked away.

Dennis shook his head as he watched Stanley walk away and also followed behind him.

In Gloria's ward, Gloria had just gained consciousness and she was weeping bitterly as she murmured. "It is all my fault.Nathan, I'm sorry." Sob,sob,sob.

"No my child, it isn't your fault. You didn't know this would have happened. Do not blame yourself." Mrs. Clemon tried to comfort her as there was no need for her to blame herself.

"No aunt. It was because of me. If I had gone back to country Y when he asked me to, all this wouldn't have happened." Sob.sob....

"Gloria, don't stress yourself. You just regained consciousness and Nathan is doing all fine. Calm down." Mr. Clemon also spoke up.

"Uncle, Nathan is fine? Can I see him?" Gloria tried to take out the drip but Mrs. Clemon held her down.

"You can't see him now as the nurses are still withhim.You would see him soon, as he would be placed in the ward beside you anytime soon." Mrs. Clemon replied.

"Aunty, I'm sorry. I really am sorry. I promise to go back to Y country when Nathan is all well. I promise not to be a border no more.... sob, sob" Gloria said in between tears as she kept on blaming herself.

It took a long time for Mrs. Clemon to console her and with the help of sedatives from the doctor's, she soon fell asleep.

Mrs. Clemon sighed and said to Mr. Clemon. "Who would have thought something like this would happen? I don't think there is a need for her to blame herself like this."

"I think she just feels guilty because she thinks she is the reason why Nathan met the accident." Mr. Clemon replied.

Mrs. Clemon sighed after hearing that.
