Chapter 75

In the Adams family. Carmen had just arrived home when her mother pulled her to the side without waiting or giving Carmen a chance to speak, she asked. "So how did it go with Daniel?You have him wrapped around your fingers now no?"

"Mom!" Carmen called out shyly.

"What is it? Don't be shy. Tell me." Her mother said uneasily.She could not wait for the Adams and Stephenson's to merge as one family so as to improve their social status and save their family company from going bankrupt.

"You should not be worried about that anymore now mom.Daniel and I are doing really fine now. We had a great night together last night. He even came to drop me off just now but he had to rush to the office so he did not come into the house.He has apologized so we are good now. He said he could not even wait for us to get married." Carmen said happily.

Mrs. Adams smiled as she listened to her daughter. "That is why you are my favorite daughter. You are very smart. Now you should be happily planning for the marriage. And what about Hilda. Did you get to see her?"

When Carmen heard her mother mention Hilda's name, she frown but after thinking about what happened last night and Hilda moving out from the apartment, she could not help but gloat within herself.

"Mother,I do not think there is a need for us to be worried

about Hilda. She already moved out from the apartment she rented with the help of Daniel. It looks like she is still hurting by the fact that she could not be with him. And I also heard she is dating someone else now. I do not know why but it seems like Mr. Rex is really into her. What if he ends up marrying Hilda? That would mean her making her way up the social circle as Mr. Rex's wife." Carmen ended up saying worriedly.

"You should not be worried about that my daughter. When you and Daniel end up marrying, that would merge the Stephenson Group and Adams Group. Raising us in the ranks in the social status. We might even end up being above the Cross Family. I even heard they had sold some shares of their company to the Clemon family which means they would be below us in the future in the social circle. Plus I am sure Mr.Rex only wantsto have a taste of Hilda. There is no way he would end up getting married to someone of her caliber. She is just a low life useless daughter of the Adams family. You should not be worried about that." Mrs. Adams said rather convinced.

"If you say so mom. You know better." Carmen said happily.

"Yes my dear. You look tired. Go up stairs and have a rest. I will make the maids bring breakfast to you in your room.When you are done eating you can use the rest of the day to rest as I make plans for your wedding." Mrs. Adams said sweetly.

"Alright mother." Carmen beamed as she listened to her mother.

She was a princess when it comes to her mother.

In the hospital.

Kyle turned to look back when he saw Samuel closing the door to his office. "Where is Chris? Isn't he coming to freshen up too?" He asked nonchalantly.

"Oh no he isn't." Samuel replied unbothered whiles adding. "He said he had something important to tend to and that he would be back soon."

"Oh? Okay." Kyle replied with a grin but Samuel had no idea about the ideas Kyle had in his mind so he did not think much about it.

As for Kyle, in his head, his mind was all over. Could it be that Chris really had something to do with the accident that Hilda and Nathan were both in? Was their main target Nathan or Hilda? And if really Chris was involved, why would he end up endangering his own sworn brother's lifeif they were only after Hilda? Am I suspecting him falsely or there is something more to this? Kyle thought.

" Is something wrong?" Samuel asked when he saw all the confused look on Kyle's face.

"Oh, no." Kyle replied and went on to ask about Hilda."How is she?"

Samuel didn't have to know who the she was because the only she who mattered at the moment was Hilda.

He shook his head and replied seriously. "She would be fine but she had broken a few bones and she is suffering from internal bleeding."

"She hit her head so hard that it might be a miracle if she does not loose her memories. She twisted her ankle as well as broke her knee cap. She broke a few ribs both on her left and right.And for now she is still in a coma. She would need to be transferred to a specialize hospital or else she won't be able to walk. This is all my fault."

Kyle frown as he listened to Samuel. Although it was a ghastly accident, it would be very bad if Hilda woke up forgetting most of her memories. Although she is married to Nathan now, she would have to be with someone else who could help trigger her past memories but the Adams family are far from being perfect.

"You should not blame yourself. Hilda will be fine. We will make sure she gets the best treatment in the world. As at now,she is family and we are all she got now so we have to do everything within our power to make sure she gets out of this predicament." Kyle said seriously.

"I blamed her falsely after everything. I called her my sister but then turned my back against her earlier. But for that, I am going to make sure no one gets to hurt her anymore. I am her family too. I got her as my sister now. As my mother had always wanted a daughter, this would be the perfect chance to

get her one." Samuel said sadly and with vigor.

"Alright. What about Nathan? What are they saying?" Kyle asked with a serious expression on.

When Samuel heard him, he just shook his head.
