Chapter 84

Late at night in Christopher's apartment.two strong built burly men carried a body bag out of his apartment into his car boot.

Christopher recalls that day like it was just yesterday to him. It was one of his worst nightmares. Which haunts him the most.He was having a good time with a girl when all of a sudden the girl passed out in his bed. He freaked out as he did not know what would become of him if other's found out.

He didn't want to tarnish his image as if the accident came to light. people will judge him wrongly. He then decided to get rid of the body before anyone else found out. That was when he called two of his most trusted subordinate and asked them to get rid of the body.

In the video, it shows how his men took the heavy body bag from his apartment all the way to the outskirt of the town before his men burnt the body.

Looking at the video now on his phone, he got fully drenched in sweat as his worst nightmare was coming to pass.Although he could just deny everything and with his power and influence get someone to do his sentence. he knew the public will turn their back on him. And their perception of him will also change.

The body that was burnt that night was that of his former assistant. He tried to calm down but he couldn't. He hurriedly dialed one on the burner phone to place the call.

As soon as the call was connected, the robotic tone said with a voice filled with smile. "I knew you will caIl me back.Hahahahaha. It is a good choice you made by calling you know. Because you might end up losing everything and everyone you care about. You wouldn't want that no? Let's think about what even Nathan himself will think about you."

Nathan was a man with principles. Before he uses undermine methods, that's when you left him with no choice. Chrisfeared losing his friends and tarnishing his image that was why he decided to make that move. Never in his wildest dream did he think someone would be in the dark looking for a chance to make a move like this.

Thinking back to the day, he could not even bring himnself to think about who couId have done the recording. If someone has him followed in the dark, then it means there is more than just this. Thinking about this, he gritted his teeth and asked."What do you want from me?"

"Oh it is simple. You just have to give me Nathan." In a serious voice, the robotic voice replied from the other end.

"What? You are crazy to think that I will give Nathan to you.No one is going to get to hurt him. Even if I did give him to you, there is no way you will win a fight against him. Dream on if you think it would be easy getting your hands on him."

There was silence on the line. The person on the other end thought it through and knew it was close to impossible trying to hurt Nathan. So the best way was to hurt someone he loves

the most.

"Fine. Then it is either you giving us his mom or Gloria. It's that easy. So you choose." Came from the other end of the line.

That was close to impossible. "Ain't no way I am going to put Aunt on the line." Chris replied angrily. He knew for a fact that Nathan would not think twice about killing anyone who harmed his family even if it was him. It is his mother they talking about.

"Then that leaves Gloria. Good choice." The person responded.

Chris who was in love with Gloria will not give Gloria out.Thinking about it. he just yelled into the phone angrily. "Go to hell whoever you are."

"I know you are in atight corner at this time. So I will give you a few hours to think it through. I will call you in two hours. Make sure you got the right response then or the police might come knocking on your door. No pressure." The person said sweetly before hanging up.

As soon as the call ended. Chris shouted from his lungs. "No pressure my foot." He looked down to the burner phone in his hand. He was about to throw it out when he recalled his life was at stake.

With his personal phone in his hand, he threw it hard hitting the wall and it scattered at the moment. He began throwing blows on his bed as he was saying angrily. "No pressure,no pressure but you expect me to snitch on the brv's."

"Ahhh" He just wanted to hit somebody to ease the tension he was feeling at that moment. Two hours will arrive in just a blink of an eye but he still couldn't bring himself to hurt any of the two.

Aunt was the apple of Nathan's eyes. And although he claims he feels nothing for Gloria, Chris was unsure. After all. Gloria was Nathan's first love. How could he bring himself to hurt anyone of them without Nathan coming out at him.

Nathan might destroy him after he finds out he had a hand in either. Gloria was also his love. He had always been in love with Gloria but he didn't dare to express his feelings.

Thinking it through, he didn't know what else to do. That was when it hit him. Nathan is married now. Is marriage was a rush. And to him, Nathan married Hilda just to help her and nothing else. So if he could get whoever it is to go after Hilda.thinking Nathan is madly in love with Hilda, it wouldn't be a problem as Nathan doesn't really love Hilda like he does his mom and Gloria.
