Chapter 99

Nathan who was always cautious about his environment at this time had no idea that someone has entered his ward.He pouted like an aggrieved child and begrudged. "What do you mean by am I happy? Did you say it for me to be happy or because you meant it?"

Hilda didn't know how to respond. Of course she said it because she meant it. But knowing how narcissistic Nathan was, she didn't want to admit it. As she was thinking about how to respond, she caught a glimpse of someone else in the video call.

She was so shocked that she had her mouth wide open. Using her eyes, she was trying to get Nathan's attention to someone standing behind him. But Nathan was so focus on how Hilda should call him that he had no idea what she was trying to do.

"Is something wrong with your eyes? Why are you opening them this wide? And why is your jaw dropped? Close your mouth. Or you are trying to scare me?" HHe asked confused.

Hilda shook her head at him. But he still didn't get it.

"Babe,are you okay?" He asked starting to get worried as he didn't understand the change in Hilda's behavior all of a sudden.

Hilda nodded and then proceeded to shake her head. At this point Nathan didn't even know how to react. "What's wrong?"Nathan asked again frowning. "Trying to get away from my

question?"

Hilda raised her hand to the camera and was about to tell Nathan when someone spoke from behind him.

"It must be because she is shocked by my sudden appearance."Mrs. Clemon spoke up and laughed after trying so hard not to.

Nathan jumped in surprise when he heard his mom's voice. He turned around to his mom and then back to Hilda who was nodding continuously on the call.

This is bad. He thought.

"Hold for a minute, let me call you back." He said to Hilda and then hanged up.

Mrs. Clemon was confused as to why Nathan had ended the call just because she had arrived. "Why did you hang up hurriedly?" She asked.

Nathan didn't even know how to respond to that. Hilda and he are married but no one in his family knows about it.Telling his mom now didn't sit right with him either. And lying to her was not his thing.

Looking at her son who looked like he was caught up in a dilemma, she decided to help him out. "She looks to be someone special to you? Your girlfriend?" She asked.

"Mom?" Nathan called out still contemplating on whether to let her in on his marriage or not. He knew his mother will support

him no matter what he choose though but he didn't know if it was the right time yet.

"Don't be shy. Tell me. Who is she? She is pretty by the way."Mrs. Clemon held Nathan's face in her arms as she asked.

Nathan looked at his mom and smiled. "She is my wife."

Like a bomb has being dropped, Mrs. Clemon felt like the earth at taken a spin with in that moment. Did she hear right? Did Nathan say his wife? After thinking about it for a while,she began laughing. "Hahahaha."

Nathan couldn't believe what he was seeing. Was his mom so shocked by the news that she has gone mad? "Mom,are you okay?"

Mrs. Clemon continued laughing a she thought about the joke that Nathan had just passed about his wife. "I didn't even know you were this funny. If you do not want to tell me who she is, you could have just told me. My tummy. See how hard you made me laugh."

Nathan couldn't believe it, did my mom think I was joking about Hilda being my wife? "No mom, I'm not joking. She is my wife. I'm married mom?"

Mrs. Clemon couldn't believe her ears when she heard the seriousness in her son's voice. She sat down on the bed and stared straight at Nathan. "You are married? Are you being serious? For how long now? And how come we haven't heard about it? What else haven't you told us? Why are we still in

the dark?" She asked.

Nathan had expected all this questions. "I didn't mean to keep you in the dark about my marriage..."

Nathan had just spoken when he was cut off by a voice from the door. "Which marriage are you two talking about? Who is getting married?"

Nathan turned around and found his dad holding onto the door.

"Dad." He called out.

"Mmm. How are you feeling now? And who were you two gossiping about?" He closed the door behind him and walked towards them whiles asking.

"My dear, you arrived at the right time. Nathan,tell him what you just told me." Mrs. Clemon gestured for her son to speak.

Nathan didn't know whether to cry or laugh at how her mom was reacting to the news of his marriage. It is just a marriage.But he knew it wasn't just a marriage when it comes to his family.

Although he knew for a fact that his parents will support what ever decision he made, he knew that his marriage will be a problem this time around. But it wasn't anything he can't handle.

"Dad, I was just telling mom here about my marriage." Nathan

spoke up.

His dad laughed when he hard Nathan and went over to hold his wife. Starring at her with a soft gaze flowing with nothing but love. "You should already be thinking about that. As far as I'm concern. Gloria will be happy to know you are ready to settle down. It is about time you two did."

What? Nathan thought. But I didn't say anything about planning to get married to Gloria. "No dad, you got it all wrong. I meant I was telling mom about how I already got married."

What? Mr. Clemon couldn't believe his ears too after hearing his son. "You said you are what....?"
