Chapter 13
I was just running some errands nearby and happened to see you."
Ella and Lily exchanged a knowing smile at Glenn's comment.
They chatted for a bit and then decided to grab a meal at a nearby restaurant.
Lily had always thought Glenn was a great guy.
Too bad Ella had been head over heels for Arthur back then and hadn't noticed anyone else.
If Ella had picked Glenn, would things have been different?
Glenn gave a small smile. "My family sent me abroad, but after a while, I realized there's no place like home, so I came back."
Once he was back, Glenn wanted to reach ouat to Ella right away.
But knowing she was married,he held back.
Unexpectedly, he bumped into her the very next day.
Glenn looked at Ella and asked, "How have you been? Is Arthur treating you well?" Maybe his gaze was too intense, so Ella looked away. "We're planning to get a divorce." Hearing this.Glenn's heart skipped a beat. He didn't expect such good news.If they were getting a divorce, did that mean he still had a shot with Ella? Trying to keep his excitement in check, Glenn had to drop the subject as the waiter came in.During the meal, he tried to bring it up again, but Ella kept dodging the topic.
After a few tries. Glenn gave up.
After dinner, Ella stood next to Glenn, and a leaf fell on her hair.
Glenn reached out to brush it off, but she instinctively pulled away.
"A leaf fell on your head," Glenn said with a faint smile, standing close to her.
Just then, Alan happened to see them and snapped a photo.
He sent it to Arthur with a voice message.
"Isn't that Glenn, who used to chase after Ella? You better focus on Ella,or you might lose her without even realizing it."
Arthur, who was in a meeting, checked Alan's message and saw the photo of Ella and Glenn standing close together. His mood instantly soured, making the vice president, who was presenting, hesitate. Arthur tapped his fingers on the table, making everyone in the room nervous. After a moment, he coldly said. "That's it for today."Back in his office, Arthur stared at the photo on his phone, lost in thought. After a while, he sneered and felt a surge of irritation.
No wonder Ella was so eager for a divorce; she had found someone new.
Meanwhile, Ella and Lily had just returned to Worry-Free Studio when Lily got a call from Sean."Mr. Gray, I thought you changed your mind about signing with us," Lily joked.
Lily looked at Ella, who nodded, and then replied, "We have time."
They agreed on a time and hung up.
Lily looked at Ella. "Are you really not coming with me?"
Ella shook her head and waved from the sofa. "You go ahead."
Lily didn't push further and touched up her makeup in front of the mirror. She had to look her best representing Worry-Free Studio.
Half an hour later, Lily found herself in the same reception room as last time, facing Sean, Alan, and even Arthur. Seeing the three of them. Lily was glad Ella hadn't come. She glanced at the men in front of her. "Mr. Gray, what's this about?Could you introduce me to the clients?" Sean looked at the other two men. "Mr. Smith wants to talk business with Ms. Worry-Free." Arthur was a bit surprised to see Lily. Despite recalling her unfriendly attitude the last time at Worry-Free Studio, he still didn't mind. Why didn't Ms. Worry-Free come with you?" Arthur asked.
Lily glanced at him and replied indifferently, "She's visiting her late father's grave."
Arthur frowned, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Seeing he didn't ask further, Lily turned back to Sean. "Mr. Gray, can we sign the contract now?"
Sean nodded and placed the contract in front of Lily.
She picked it up and read it carefully. The profit Sean offered to Worry-Free Studio was quite substantial.
Lily put down the contract. "Have you reviewed this contract?"
"Is there a problem?" Sean frowned, thinking Lily was dissatisfied with the terms.
"No problem, as long as you are okay with it, I'll sign."
Lily understood Sean's intention. It was a win-win situation.
Without hesitation, she signed the contract.Sean took the contract and extended his hand to Lily, "Here's to a successfulcollaboration." After signing the contract, Lily was about to leave when Sean called her back.
"Ms. Martin, have you heard of the Fashion Gala?"
Lily had heard of it, buIt the invitations were hard to come by.
"Of course." Lily looked at Sean, puzzled.
He took out two invitations. "These are for the gala. You and Ms. Worry-Free can attend."
Lily was tempted but knew not to accept benefits without merit.
"Mr. Gray, you're not only offering us more benefits in this collaboration but also extending invitations. Are you trying to buy us off?"
Sean chuckled. "Of course not. Since StellarAchievement Group is partnering with Worry-Free Studio, we're on the same team."
Seeing her still cautious, Sean continued, "Many renowned designers will be there. If Worry-Free Studio wants to make a name, this is a good start."
Lily had to admit, Sean's words were tempting.
"You make a good point. I'll accept the invitations, thank you," Lily said as she thanked him and left.
She didn't give Arthur a glance as she walked out. "Sean, did you specifically get those invitations for them?" Alan asked, watching Lily leave.
