Chapter 57
Ava's voice burst out.
Ella jumped, her eyes darting around before she ducked into a pavilion.
"Are you guys lying to me?"
"Ava, come on, why would we lie? A gardener saw it. If you don't believe us, we can go ask him right now!"
"Yeah, the gardener said they were all over each other! It must be Ms.Worry-Free making moves on Mr.Smith."
"Jessa, Blair, I know you mean well, but we've been searching forever and still haven't found them!"
Ava's face was a mix of frustration and hurt. "I don't know what to do. If I knew it would be like this, I wouldn't have joined this show!"
"That's not the point. It's all Ms. Worry-Free's fault, that bitch, always covered up and still trying to seduce Mr. Smith!"
"Yeah. Ava, she's always wrapped up. Who knows how ugly she might be?Tomorrow, let's find a way to show her real face and ruin her face!"
Ella listened to their scheme from behind a pillar, feeling like she was plunged into an ice bath.
Who would've thought these seemingly sweet and innocent women would actually plan to ruin her face?
Her hand slowly clenched into a fist, a cold smile spreading across her lips.
Not far away, Ava and her two minions finished their plotting and walked
off.
Ella stepped out from behind the pillar, sneering, "Let's see who outsmarts who!"
She found it ridiculous that she was Arthur's wife but had to hide from a mistress.
Even more absurd was that she had to follow them to find her way back to the room.
But it didn't matter; knowing how to endure was the hallmark of a true successor.
So. Ella trailed them back to her room.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Lily furiously typing away at her computer.
"These netizens are insane; even kindergarteners wouldn't say such nonsense.Damn them all!"
Ella asked, puzzled, "What are you doing?"
Lily clenched her fist. "I'm arguing with netizens!"
She was clearly bored.
Ella glanced at the screen and saw the harsh insults flying, and Lily was losing the battle.
She put her arm around Lily's neck."Alright, don't waste your time on them! Let's talk about something serious!"
"What is it?"
Cnap
"Someone's trying to set me up, and I want to get back at them tomorrow!"
"It wouldn't be Ava, would it?"
Ella nodded and then recounted what she had overheard.
Lily jumped up, fuming. "These people will do anything to ingratiate themselves with Ava, even trying to ruin your face!"
She started pacing around the room.
"Damn it, anyone in the fashion industry knows that kind of dye shouldn'
t touch the skin, or it will cause an allergic reaction. They're so despicable!"
"Don't worry. We don't know who will win yet!"
"Right, we can't give in!"
Lily's eyes lit up, and she whispered something to Ella.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
'Who would come over so late at night?'
Ella opened the door with a puzzled look, and a familiar face appeared.
"Ms. Worry-Free, Mr. Smith asked me to deliver this to you!"
The person quickly left after handing over the item.
Ella stood there, rolling her eyes.
Lily curiously ran over. "Arthur sent it?"
She took the bag from Ella's hand, opened it, and saw a phone, pouting.
"Is this the difference between true love and you? He buys jewelry and invests billions for his true love, but for you, just a lousy phone!"
"Do you have to stab me in the heart?"
"No, just kidding!"
Ella's phone had been broken by Arthur, and now he compensated her with a new one. They were even.
Ella had just inserted the SIM card when a message from an unknown number popped up.
[I want fried sausages tomorrow morning!]
Arthur really knew how to trouble Ella.
Ella angrily tossed the phone aside.
Lily laughed. "This scumbag is really something. Does he think you're his lover and maid?"
"Get out!"
"Alright, my bad. Let's hit the sack early. We have a big day tomorrow!"
Early the next morning, Ella was woken up by the alarm clock.
There was no choice; to keep her identity hidden, she had to swallow her pride and cook for him.
But she didn't expect that just as she went downstairs, she saw Arthur hurriedly leaving.
'Does it mean I don't have to cook?
Ella was hesitating whether to go back to sleep when the door was rudely kicked open.
Arthur rushed in, carrying Ava.
"Quick,get some medicine!"
His tone was commanding, just like always.
Noticing Ella standing still. Arthur looked up, his eyes deep and cold."
Hurry up, Ava twisted her ankle while running!"
"Why should I..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she met Arthur's fiery gaze and suddenly lost the will to argue. She quickly ran to the storage room on the first floor.
Ava sat on the sofa, glaring at Ella's back with an ugly expression.
"Arthur, why are you so harsh? You'll scare her! And Ms. Worry-Free isn't obligated to get me medicine!"
"Was I harsh?"
Arthur stood there,confused.
Ava nodded. "You're too disrespectful!"
Her delicate voice carried far to Ella's ears.
Ella walked over with the medicine, a sarcastic smile on her face. "Here's the medicine. I'm going back to sleep!"
As she turned to leave, her wrist was tightly grasped.
"You help her apply it!"
"Say that again?" Ella was almost laughing in anger.
'Does he really think I'm a servant?'
Was there anything more ridiculous in this world? The husband held the lover and even asked his wife to apply the medicine to the lover.
Ella stood there, trembling with anger, her chest heaving.
Arthur stood there, his voice cold. "If you don't help her,do you want me to do it?"
"Of course! Everyone knows about your relationship, there's nothing to hide! And it's early, no one's here!"
With that,Ella shook off his hand and ran.
"Come back here!"
Arthur's angry voice echoed behind her.
Ella didn't stop. running even faster.
In the blink of an eye, she had disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
Arthur clenched his fists in anger.
Ava bit her lip, looking pitiful. "What should we do? Maybe you should take me to the hospital. But if we go to the hospital, we'll miss the live broadcast. It would be such a shame!"
"I'll find someone to help!"
Under Ava's surprised gaze, Arthur made a phone call.
Within ten minutes, a staff member from the director's team. still half-asleep.came running down.
"Ava hurt her foot. Help her apply the medicine!"
Arthur's voice was cold, his whole demeanor exuding an unapproachable aura.
The staff member was startled and quickly nodded. "Got it."
