Chapter 68

Sofia and Robert were daydreaming about their great-grandchild again.

Ella grinned and said, "Arthur hasn't come down yet, I'll go check on him!"

With that, she hurried upstairs like she was making a quick escape.

The two downstairs couldn't help but chuckle.

Hearing their laughter, Ella picked up her pace. She opened the door and heard Arthur's noise from the bathroom.

"Ella!"

Ella asked, puzzled, "What's up?"

"Bring me my clothes and towel!"

He said in a bossy tone.

Ella didn't reply. She grabbed the clothes and towel and tossed them through the door crack.

Ella sneered, "Be polite when asking for help!"

Arthur missed catching the clothes,and they fell to the wet floor.

He pushed open the bathroom door, standing there stark naked.

Ella turned her face away. "Hurry up and get dressed!"

"How can I wear wet clothes!" Arthur walked naked to the closet and threw on some clothes.

"Feeling shy? Last night, you couldn't get enough of me!" The limited edition Rolls-Royce attracted a lot of attention as soon as it stopped.

Ella quickly put on her hat, glasses, and mask.

Arthur sneered, "I don't know what you're trying to prove. If you need money. I can give you more each month! No need to put yourself through this!"

Though his words were meant to be caring, Arthur's tone made it sound like a scolding.

Ella rolled her eyes. "Relying on myself is the most dependable! So please,don't interfere with my work."

With that, she got out of the car.

Watching her stubborn back, Arthur's mouth twitched. 'What the hell is this job? Being a stand-in? And who's the real Ms. Worry-Free?'

Ella had no idea what Arthur was thinking. At that moment, her vision went black, her stomach churned, and she stumbled.

She barely made it into the hall.

The cold air from the air conditioner hit her, and her legs gave out,causing her to collapse to the ground.

Something was wrong.

She feIt like her stomach was being squeezed, causing sharp pain.

Despite the summer heat, she felt waves of cold.

"Lily!" she murmured, reaching for her phone.

A scream came from a distance. "Ms. Worry-Free, what's wrong?"

Ava, in high heels, ran over and grabbed Ella's arm. "Are you feeling unwell? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

Pain shot through Ella's arm.

She gasped, shivering, speaking weakly, "Find Lily!"

"Who are you looking for?"

Whether intentionally or not, Ava kept asking while hitting Ella's abdomen.

The pain intensified.

Using her last bit of strength, Ella pushed her away. "Get away from me!"

With blurred vision, she dialed a number on her phone by feel.

Before it connected, Ava rushed over and hung up.

"No need to call for help, I'll take care of you!"

Ava kicked Ella's phone away. "Let's go upstairs!"

She grabbed Ella's arm and dragged her upstairs.

During the process, she repeatedly tried to pull off Ella's mask and glasses.

Despite her weakness, Ella clung to them, preventing Ava from removing them.

"Let go of me!"

In excruciating pain, Ella struggled. She wanted to call for help, but the hall was empty.

A warm flow came from below.

Her period had started.

Dragged along, bright red bloodstained the floor.

Footsteps approached, and Ava's face changed. She ran away.

Ella was thrown to the ground hard, nearly causing her to pass out.

With her remaining strength, she called for help, "Help!"

Her voice was barely audible.

A few people nearby, chatting and laughing, didn't notice Ella at the staircase and walked away.

Blood continued to flow.

Just as Ella was about to lose hope, a familiar figure appeared.

"Ella!"

At the staircase, Ella lay curled up in a pool of blood.

Arthur's pupils contracted, and he ran over. "What happened? I'll take you to the hospital now!"

"My period!" she managed to explain with her last bit of strength before passing out.

Panicked, Arthur held Ella and called, "Quick, Ella fainted,get the medical team to the first floor!"

In the corner, Ava watched them, seething with jealousy.

She wanted to rush over and slap Ella.

She seemed to hear Arthur call her Ella.

'What is the connection between Ms. Worry-Free and Ella?

Covered in blood, Ava quickly went to her room. When she returned, the medical team had arrived.

Too far to hear Arthur's words. Ava adjusted her clothes and walked over in high heels.

"She's covered in blood, how terrifying!"

Before Ava finished speaking, she fainted, her body collapsing towards Arthur.
