Chapter 72

Terry accidentally ran into an elderly woman who was looking for fertility medication for her granddaughter. After chatting with her. Terry discovered that she was Arthur's grandmother-in-law.

Without a second thought, he handed over a sketchy prescription.

Once taken, this med would cause some serious pain.

Ava heard everything clearly, but her mind was a mess.

After hanging up. she just sat there, stunned. 'What's the deal between Ms.Worry-Free and Arthur? Could it be just a coincidence?'

Terry had prescribed the meds for Arthur's wife, but now Ms. Worry-Free was in agony and bleeding.

She shivered, her eyes determined. "Connection or not, I'm gonna find out by testing it!"

Footsteps echoed.

She turned and her eyes brightened. "Lily, what are you doing here? How

s Ms.Worry-Free?"

"None of your business!"

Lily shot her a look and started to leave.

Seeing this, Ava quickly followed. "What are you talking about? We're on the same team. I heard she took some meds. What kind? She was covered in blood yesterday, it was horrifying!"

"Not your concern! Stop prying!" Lily snapped.

"You..."

Lily was surprisingly stubborn.

Watching Lily walk away. Ava fumed and headed upstairs.

A knock on the door.

Ella quickly threw on a hat. sunglasses, and a mask, opened the door, and frowned. "What do you want?"

"Just checking on you!"

Ava strolled in, looking around. "Guess you got lucky, moving close to Arthur because of your health!"

Ella asked again. "What do you want?"

"Come on. we're friends. Can't I visit without a reason?" Ava grabbed Ella's hand. "Your statement yesterday was scary, what happened?"

"None of your business!"

Ava was speechless hearing that again.

'No wonder you and Lily are friends. Both so annoying.

She forced a smile. "I'm just worried about you. I heard you took some harmful meds. You're so young, why take meds?"

"Get out, I'm busy!"

Ella shook off her hand and sat by the computer, focusing on the screen.

The live broadcast was still going.

Ella glanced at her. "Don't you need to join the live broadcast?"

"Of course not! With Arthur's support. I can do whatever I want!" Ava studied Ella closely.

But her face was covered, showing no expression.

The room was super quiet, only the live broadcast playing.

Then,the door opened.

Both looked towards the door.

Arthur, in a custom suit, with a stern face, frowned at Ava. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see Ms. Worry-Free! What about you?"

Ava quickly moved to grab Arthur's arm.

Arthur stepped back, his gaze shifting to Ella. "Alright, you've seen her,now go back. I need to talk to Ms. Worry-Free!"

"I..."

Arthur didn't give Ava a chance to speak, pushing her out and closing the door.

Ava was too mad to speak.

Arthur had kicked her out.

What did they want to talk about?

Panic surged in her, and she pressed her ear to the door.

Inside. Ella looked up at Arthur. "Do you need something?"

"It's settled. I'vre told HR. Leo's out tomorrow!" Arthur's words were blunt.

Ella was shocked and snapped, "How could you? You know he's innocent.yet you..."

"Innocent? Who said that? I'm done talking about this. I'm here to give you this!" He pulled a box of medicine from his pocket and set it on the table. "Take it on time!"

Ella glanced at the label and sighed. "Can't we talk this out?"

"What do you think?" Arthur smirked and then took off her hat and mask."No need to hide."

He leaned in, locking eyes with her. "Why do you want to be a stand-in?Go home. I'll take care of you!"

He placed a no-limit credit card on the table.

Ella didn't even glance at it. "I'm a person, not a pet. I don't need you to take care of me, and we're getting divorced soon!"

The word "divorce" seemed to hit a nerve.

Arthur stood up, a cold smile on his face. "I also wanted to tell you the investigation results. It was your grandmother who found the doctor! Do you really need the child?"

Same old topic.

Ella lowered her eyesand shook her head.′′No!′′

Talking about kids was pointless when they were getting divorced.

For a moment, they both fel into an awkward silence.

Then, a warm flow came from under Ella.

Her forehead broke out in cold sweat, and she curled up in pain.

Arthur stepped forward. looking grim. "You're in pain again, maybe you should go to the hospital!"

"No need! Don't you trust your medical team?" Ella staggered back to bed and pulled the blanket over herself. "You should go. I need to rest!"

"Tll stay with you."

He lifted the blanket to get on the bed.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Before they could say anything. Ava pushed the door open and walked in.

Arthur quickly tidied up the blanket. "Ms. Worry-Free is a guest on our show,we need to take good care of her. or it'll hurt our repuItation!"

It sounded more like a forced excuse.

Ava smiled. "I know, let's go grab some food, someone prepared afternoon tea!"

"This..."

Arthur was about to refuse.

Ella spoke first, "You two go, I need to rest!"

"Arthur, Ms. Worry-Free needs to rest during her period, let's not disturb her!"

They left the room.

Ella's eyes dimmed. "He really only cares about Ava!"

She shouldn't have had any illusions.

She covered her head with the blanket, took a few deep breaths, and tried to calm down.

The phone rang.

Ella saw it was Sofia calling and answered, "What's up, Grandma?"

"Nothing. Arthur called me asking about the doctor, is something wrong?"

"Don't worry, nothing's wrong. It was just a colleague asking about that medicine. so I inquired with you."

"I see."

Sofia was a kind soul.

She went on and on about the doctor.

Ella's stomach pain was unbearable, cold sweat on her forehead, but when she heard the doctor's last name was Davis, her face changed.

"Are you sure it's Davis?"

"Yes, he's good-looking. I even said Arthur looks as handsome as him and showed him a photo!"

Everything clicked now, no wonder the medicine was harmful, there was a connection.

Thinking of Ava's odd behavior, Ella's face turned cold. "Grandma, I have
