Chapter 97
Lily thought. "If Arthur really makes them pay the penalty, then he doesn't deserve to be Ella's husband. Glenn seems like a much better fit for her."
Years had gone by, and Glenn's crush on Ella hadn't faded one bit. It was clear he genuinely liked her.
Right then and there, Lily decided she was going to play matchmaker for those two.
Ella, meanwhile, had no clue she was about to get a fresh dose of brainwashing.
She was totally lost in her fashion design ideas.
Ramon, being the top dog in historical series, had super high standards for costumes.
After chatting for a bit, Ella soaked up knowledge like a sponge.
On the other side of the room, Arthur was glaring at Glenn and Ella, and he let out a cold snort.
"How ridiculous! Trying to seduce my wife! I want all his info in 10minutes."
Efren had no choice but to dash out of the banquet hall to get it.
When he came back, he had Glenn's info in hand.
Glenn, the heir of the Cole family, had just returned after finishing his studies and was now holding a big position in the family.
Arthur thought, "He's only been back a few months and he's already
cozying up to Ella."
His long fingers drummed on the table, his dark eyes giving nothing away.
After a bit, he muttered, "Too ugly!"
His tone was dripping with disdain.
Efren chimed in, "Of course, he's nowhere near your level!"
Arthur's lips curled up in satisfaction. "Double your salary this month!"
In the distance, Ella laughed heartily, and Arthur's grip on his wine glass tightened, his knuckles turning white.
Efrenwas speechless.
'Ella, can you stop laughing? Your husband's mad with jealousy.'
Efren's inner thoughts went unheard by Ella, and even if she did hear them, she wouldn't care.
She was over the moon. "Mr. Meza, are you serious? You really want to sign a contract with us?"
"Of course! But we need to make sure your reputation doesn't affect the TV series!"
"Don't worry, I promise it won't!"
Ella was so happy she couldn't stop smiling.
Her face was glowing like the spring sunshine, incredibly warm.
Seizing the moment, Glenn pulled out the prepared contract.
Naturally, the contract needed some tweaks. Glenn quickly called his assistant, and half an hour later, the revised contract was in their hands.
Everything went smoothly, and they successfully signed the contract.
Ella's smile was unstoppable.
After signing the contract, Ella felt completely at ease, like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. No more worrying about her studio going bankrupt.
She and Lily then mingled with the guests like social butterflies.
When other fashion designers found out Ella had signed a contract with Ramon, they were green with envy, especially Andy.
Of course, she was at the banquet too.
She wasn't actually invited, but she agreed to be someone's date.
Her goal was to work with Ramon, even if it was just for some scraps, to clear up the rumors about her.
But before she could even make a move, the contract was already signed, and it was with her most hated Worry-Free Studio.
She couldn't stand it. Conveniently, a waiter passed by, and she grabbed two bottles of red wine.
She strode purposefully towards Ella.
No one at the banquet noticed this scene, except for Arthur, who had been keeping a close eye on Ella from the corner. He saw Andy heading her way and quickly got up, moving swiftly.
But there was still some distance between them, and even though he took big strides, it was still too late.
Andy smashed the wine bottle towards Ella.
Just when it seemed likethe bottle would hit Ella and Lily, a pair of strong hands grabbed Ella's waist, pulling her away, and Lily was also pushed aside.
The two bottles of red wine crashed to the ground, spilling wine everywhere, creating a mess.
Ella, still in shock, looked at Andy in front of her. "You tried to hit me!"
Andy, having missed her target, angrily grabbed another bottle of wine from a nearby waiter. "Bitch, it's all your fault, you ruined my career!"
Holding the wine bottle, she kept ranting.
She found a good angle and swung the bottle again.
But Ella and Lily were ready this time, and they easily dodged.
Then, in perfect sync, they each grabbed one of Andy's arms and pulled hard.
Andy screamed in pain, "Let go of me, or I won't let you off!"
"Stop talking nonsense, daring to hurt us in public, you deserve a beating!"
Neither Ella nor Lily was one to back down.
Thinking of the wine bottle just now, if it had hit their heads, they would have been bleeding.
They tightened their grip, one hand holding her arm, the other pulling her hair, causing Andy to raise her head in pain.
"Hitting us with a wine bottle, it's not too much to slap you a few times!"
Without giving Andy a chance to respond, they acted.
In no time, Andy's face was bruised and swollen.
Glenn, watching from the side, couldn't help but smile. "Alright, have you both vented enough?"
With that, he looked at the bodyguards.
The bodyguards understood and immediately dragged Andy out of the banquet hall.
The farce ended.
Ella then realized that Glenn had been standing by her side protectively.
Their posture seemed somewhat intimate.
From a distance, they looked like they were hugging.
She stepped back to maintain distance. "Sorry for messing up the party!"
These days had been too stressful, so Ella lost her temper.
But after hitting someone, she felt a bit regretful.
After all, the people attending the banquet were from the same industry.and this could damage Worry-Free Studio's image.
Glenn smiled brightly. "It's okay. Well done! She deserved it."
"Yes, I think the same! We are so in sync!"
Lily patted his shoulder, giving him an encouraging look. "Keep it up, I'm rooting for you!"
The three of them laughed at Lily's teasing.
On the other side, Arthur, who was too late to help Ella, was furious, his face dark.
Thinking of the scene just now, still in shock, he glanced at Efren."Blacklist Andy."
With a simple sentence,he ruined her career.
Efren nodded and immediately made a call.
The party continued, but Ella could clearly sense that the expressions of those around her had changed.
They seemed somewhat disdainful.
She thought, 'Alright! I don't careabout these strangers's opinions.'
Ella then approached several target clients.
They were all wealthy women who demanded unique clothing styles.
With her eloquence and professional knowledge, Ella secured several big orders.
