Chapter 1346

chapter1346

Upon hearing the news, David sat up straight, a slight frown forming between his brows. "Why does he suddenly want Mirabella to visit the association?"

Grant recapped what Presley had mentioned earlier at the association. "I think he might be upset because you brought in a deputy president. Maybe that's bothering him?"

David shook his head, his gaze intense. "If Presley was just irritated about me bringing someone into the association, he could have directly dismissed Mirabella. There's no need for him to ask you to inform her to come by."

Grant pondered for a moment, looking up at David. "Could it be that he wants Ms. Mirabella to whip up some medicine?"

He recalled how Mirabella's medicine from a recent assessment had left everyone at the association in awe.

David was silent for a bit before saying, "Whatever his reason, don't tell Mirabella about this. Pretend you never heard it. If Presley asks, just say she's too busy."

With the association in chaos and Presley having ulterior motives, there was no point in dragging Mirabella into it.

Grant nodded and added, "Ms. Mirabella sent me a list of ingredients earlier. I've hesitated and haven't replied to her yet."

David nodded, "Just get her what she needs. I'm still the president, and my promises to her stand."

"Got it."

David gave a slight nod, signaling his assistant, and lay back down.

Seeing this, Grant decided not to disturb him further and turned to leave. After a moment, he suggested, "Should we have Ms. Mirabella come over to check on you?"

David had just closed his eyes but opened them again at the suggestion. "No need. It's nothing serious."

Grant started to say more but realized it was pointless. "Alright then."

A little while later, Grant stepped out of the room.

Devon was leaning against the wall outside. When he saw Grant, he straightened up and glanced into the "Did the teacher go back to p?"

Grant nodded, feeling a bit guilty. "I couldn't get the medicine for the president. Presley's keeping a close watch."

Devon's lips curled slightly, his expression indifferent. "He's just a heartless scoundrel."

Grant sighed, "I have to head out, Devon."

Devon nodded, still polite, "Thanks for checking in on my teacher."

Since the turmoil in the association,

hardly anyone visited David. It was a harsh reminder of how selfred people could be.

Grant shook his head with a bitter smile, "The president's helped me a lot over the years. I'm sorry I can't do more."

Devon smiled. Though he was focused on pharmacology, he understood people well. Grant not being swayed by Presley was already the best he could do.

Soon, Grant was in his car, ready to leave when his phone rang.

Presley was calling.

Confused, Grant answered.

After the call, Grant sat in his car, his expression serious. He then opened

Messenger and checked his chat with Mirabella.

Looking at her messages, he replied with a simple, "Okay."
