Chapter 1885

chapter1885

Was that... her mentor?

Mirabella blinked in disbelief. By the time she focused again, the car across the street had already turned around and was driving away, leaving only its rear end visible. The dark-tinted windows hid everything inside, making it impossible to see who was there.

Beside her, James noticed Mirabella's unusual expression and glanced at her before following her gaze out the window. "What's up?"

"Follow that car," Mirabella pointed to the vehicle that was nearly out of sight on the road.

"What's the deal with it?" James asked, puzzled.

Mirabella's eyes stayed on the window, and for a moment, she thought she must have been seeing things. How could her mentor still be alive? After a few contemplative seconds, she finally spoke, "I don't know, but something's off."

Her tone was firm. There are no true coincidences in the world. For original chapters go to F?nd-Novel.net

James didn't press further and simply instructed Wyatt, the driver, to follow the car. Soon, both vehicles were moving down the road-not too close, but not too far apart either.

In the car ahead, Santos leaned his head against the seat, a subtle smile playing on his lips as he noticed the trailing vehicle in the rearview mirror.

Ten minutes later, Wyatt tapped the steering wheel in frustration. "We've lost them."

Despite navigating through a busy main road with extreme caution, hoping not to lose track, they had lost the car after all.

Mirabella gazed ahead, not appearing surprised at all. At that moment, James's phone rang. It was Curtis calling.

"James, we've located the plane..."

As Curtis's words registered, James recalled what Mirabella had mentioned earlier. The plane would be located in no more than half an hour. The timing matched perfectly.

James's eyes darkened slightly before he ended the call and turned to Mirabella. "The plane's been found," he said, pausing before adding, "It's at Carnell Ridge."

Before Mirabella could respond, Wyatt, the driver, broke into a grin. "Found it? That's awesome!"

Wyatt's tension eased a bit, and he pressed down on the accelerator. "Should we head to meet Curtis now or keep looking for that car?" he asked, glancing at the rearview mirror.

"Where exactly at Carnell Ridge?" Mirabella asked James.

"It landed in a remote village to the south. The place has poor communication signals, which is why it was so hard to locate," James explained slowly. How the plane w avoided satellite detection and reached Carnell Ridge remained a mystery.

Mirabella listened, her gaze drifting back to the window. As she saw the road sign, her lashes briefly lowered, then she refocused. "No need to search for that car. Let's head to where Curtis said."

First, they used her mentor's face to lure them into following the car, then purposefully revealed the location Step by step, it was just as she had suspected. Without Curtis's call, she would have figured out the village anyway.

Peace Village an extremely impoverished and isolated village, nestled against an endless forest. No communication, no convenient transportation, almost cut off from
