Chapter 1841
chapter1841
James glanced up, locking eyes with the person Mirabella had asked about, and answered, "That's the president of the Archaeological Society."
Mirabella raised an eyebrow, a bit taken aback. Check latest chapters at F?ndNovel.net
If a president had come undercover, the research value of this underground palace must be pretty significant. She didn't press for more details, hoping only to find what Nellie was seeking inside.
As time ticked by, the grand ancient doors, steeped in history, finally swung open after an hour.
It felt like stepping into another world. Beyond those massive doors stood a majestic palace-like structure, seemingly floating in the air, with just a long chain bridge connecting to it.
Below this floating marvel lay a crystal-clear lake, with only standing stone statues within.
Everyone was stunned by the sight before them.
Nobody had anticipated that technology from centuries ago could create such a floating structure. Even Mirabella's expression changed slightly.
She had seen this scene before in her clan's holographic records.
The archaeological team snapped back to reality and, after ensuring everything was safe, rushed toward the chain bridge.
The age of the underground palace had left the suspension bridge rusted, but it was still functional. However, crossing it required some effort because it was made with just two chains, one above and one below. Without good balance and agility, falling into the lake below would be all too easy.
James took the safety harness Wyatt handed him, casually fastening it around Mirabella's waist. "This lake's filled with mercury. If you fall, there's no saving you, so be careful when crossing," he cautioned. Mirabella arched an eyebrow, tempted to argue it wasn't necessary, but seeing his serious expression, she decided against it. "Got it."
James glanced at the
archaeological team already making their way across the bridge. then gave Mirabella's hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'll be right behind you."
"Alright," Mirabella replied with a laid-back tone.
Before long, the group made it across the bridge without a hitch.
"This palace is something else; it's entirely unsupported yet floats in midair," one
of the professional surveyors couldn't help but marvel.
Trevor adjusted his glasses, his excitement barely contained. "It's likely a mix of mechanics and
magnetic fields, along with somet

phenomena, science can't yet explain. Understanding this could be a massive boon to humanity." Cóntent
"Wonder if the meteorite legend is true," someone speculated.
The president, who had been silent, began ascending the steps to the palace. Seeing this, the others

Mirabella stayed put, her gaze fixed on a spot on the palace's second floor.
James followed her line of sight, looking up but seeing nothing unusual. He called out, "Mira?"
Mirabella snapped out of her trance, pulling her gaze back and turning to James. "I'm heading to the second floor later. Cover for me, would you?"
James met her eyes, noticing a deeper seriousness than usual. He nodded without asking more, "Sure thing."
Mirabella gave a brief nod and, after a moment's thought, instructed Wyatt and Curtis, who hadn't gone in yet, to stay outside. "Be ready."
