Chapter 205

Henry immediately fell silent when he sensed Alexander's foul mood.

The office plunged into brief silence.

"The press conference exceeded expectations," Henry ventured cautiously. "Those old foxes on the board must be sweating now."

Alexander tapped the desk with his slender fingers, his gaze icy. "Proceed as planned."

"Understood." Henry nodded before adding, "We've made progress in locating Miss Tiffany Morrison. We should have concrete leads within a month."

Alexander's eyes flickered slightly. He merely gave a noncommittal hum.

Memories of that business gala three months ago resurfaced.

Sebastian had drugged him. The hotel surveillance was tampered with. Only a blurry name remained as a clue.

With countless girls named Tiffany Morrison across the country, the search had been painstakingly slow.

Henry sighed inwardly.

Now that Sophia was in the picture, he secretly hoped this search would lead nowhere.

Sophia was not only exceptionally capable but also utterly devoted to Alexander.

Her willingness to enter a therapeutic marriage with the Valdemars spoke volumes about her sincerity.

"Mrs. Valdemar is at the sanatorium visiting the Patriarch," Henry probed. "Shall I ask her to join you?"

Alexander's mind flashed to Sophia sneaking a touch on his face earlier.

"Unnecessary." His tone came out stiffer than intended.

Henry's eyebrows shot up in surprise.

That reaction... seemed unusually intense?

"I'll check on the Patriarch then." Henry tactfully changed the subject, then added indignantly, "Your father did show up at the press conference today. Thankfully Madam intervened in time."

Alexander's expression darkened instantly. "Don't mention him."

"Right, right." Henry forced a conciliatory smile. "I'll go find Madam now."

Alexander said nothing.
