Chapter 425
"William, I came to see you."
Emily Lowell's voice suddenly dropped, tinged with a sob. "I'm sorry..."
William Lowell immediately ruffled her hair. "Silly girl, why apologize? This has nothing to do with you..."
A mysterious smile played on his lips. Outsiders only saw Lowell Entertainment in turmoil, unaware they still held a trump card.
Dr. Preston Quincy's medical robotics project was about to launch—their chance to turn the tide.
Seeing his genuine expression, Emily's smile returned.
She curled up on the office sofa like a child, reminiscing with William about the past.
Back when Sophia Laurent helmed Lowell Entertainment, the family thrived, each member excelling in their field.
Memories softened William's features, filling the office with warmth.
"William," Emily suddenly blinked. "Show me around the company?"
"Sure," he teased. "If you ever quit acting, you can take over the family business."
"No way!"
She shook her head, clinging to his arm. "I want my brothers to spoil me forever!"
"Dream on." He tapped her nose.
"Why not?"
Their laughter echoed as they toured every department—except the top floor.
The Lowell Tower had thirty-three floors. The executive suite occupied the thirty-second.
"Just the usual departments, nothing special..."
Emily grew impatient. She'd scoured HR, design, and product development but found no trace of the medical robot.
Then she noticed the electronic door blocking access to the thirty-third floor.
"William, let's go up there." Her eyes sparkled.
His smile faltered.
"It's a mess up there," he coaxed. "You must be tired. Let's rest in my office..."
The executive suite had a private lounge where Emily often napped.
Pouting, she pressed, "If I'm family, why can Sophia go up but not me?"
Tears welled in her eyes. She knew—if Dr. Quincy's project was there, Sophia had been.
William hesitated.
Even this small request denied, yet he claimed she was like a sister?
"Emily, you misunderstand," he explained. "Dr. Quincy works up there. No disturbances allowed—even I rarely go..."
At "Dr. Quincy," Emily's eyes lit up.
"Please, William? Just a peek. I'll be quiet." She shook his arm.
Faced with her childlike pleading, William finally nodded.
"Alright. Let's go up."
