Chapter 8
Every word from Lu Changsheng struck Elder Qian like a blade.
The Kirin clansmen stood rigid, their faces ashen, eyes burning with barely contained fury. Two of the Violet Flame Generals finally snapped, roaring as they charged at Lu Changsheng.
To Lu Changsheng, their movements unfolded like a slow-motion reel—each frame crisp and deliberate. With effortless grace, he deflected their attacks, fingertips barely grazing them.
Their bodies plummeted like broken kites, blood painting vivid arcs in the air.
Elder Qian exhaled heavily, his Kirin form dissolving. Drenched in blood and pallid, he rasped, "Your power rivals even the Guardian Beasts of the Chaos Realm. Yet never before has a human of your strength walked this earth."
Lu Changsheng replied coolly, "Longevity doesn’t equate to omniscience. Some masters prefer to remain untouched by mortal affairs."
Elder Qian fell silent, lost in thought. The setting sun bathed the ruins in crimson as he finally lifted his head. "We will submit. But the Kirin Clan demands the most favorable terms."
"Elder!" Qi Chuan cried out, aghast. "Bowing to humans? What of our dignity?"
Lu Changsheng cut in, "Specific terms require deliberation among all four Beast Clans."
News of the upheaval spread like wildfire across the Beast Continent. Some raged at the clans' surrender, while others watched the chaos unfold.
Three days later, representatives of the four clans gathered in Kirin territory.
"The Vermilion Bird Clan already has a new leader?" The Qiongqi Patriarch sneered.
The former Vermilion Bird Elder replied mildly, "The young must inherit their due."
The White Tiger Patriarch smirked. "Never thought the proud Kirin would bend the knee."
The Kirin leader shot back, "Better than being tossed around like a ragdoll before surrendering."
As arguments threatened to shake the roof, Lu Changsheng entered with Xu Yeming in tow.
"You handle this." Lu Changsheng nudged his disciple forward before taking a seat.
The moment Xu Yeming opened his mouth, the Kirin leader scoffed. "A whelp like you dares sit among equals?"
"Fetch your master!"
"Come back in ten thousand years!"
Lu Changsheng didn’t even glance up. "Am I dead? Need another beating?"
His disciple was his to discipline. Anyone else? They’d regret it.
