Chapter 56
Nathan Lowell's gaze sharpened as he followed the staff member's hurried movements.
That direction was exactly where he had been standing with Emily Lowell moments ago.
His heart lurched. He broke into a sprint.
Sophia Laurent watched his retreating figure thoughtfully.
The expression on Nathan's face had clearly indicated he wanted to ask her something important.
And now, of all times, someone fainted?
She narrowed her eyes toward the gathering crowd.
Who else would make Nathan react like this except Emily?
If they weren't in the middle of filming, she'd have followed to see the spectacle herself.
Just then, the host received instructions from the director.
"Dear audience, due to unforeseen circumstances, we'll pause the live stream for ten minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience."
The broadcast cut off abruptly.
Live comments exploded instantly.
What happened? Who fainted?
Nathan looked frantic—was it Emily?
Tch, what perfect timing...
Exactly! Nathan was clearly about to ask Sophia something important!
Hearing the announcement, Sophia's lips curved slightly.
She rose and walked toward the commotion.
From a distance, she overheard someone questioning Nathan.
"Mr. Lowell, does Ms. Lowell have any preexisting conditions? Hypoglycemia? Anemia?"
"No." Nathan shook his head. "She's always been healthy."
"Please give her space. She needs fresh air."
Emily's assistant wrung her hands anxiously. "The ambulance is on its way. Everyone, please return to your seats. Nathan can stay with her."
She bowed repeatedly. "We're so sorry for the disruption."
The crowd murmured understandingly and dispersed.
Sophia approached unhurriedly.
Her glance swept over Emily, sprawled on the bench.
Rosy cheeks. Even breathing.
This didn't resemble a medical emergency.
"What did you want to ask me earlier?" Sophia cut straight to the point.
Before Nathan could respond, the assistant gasped. "Ms. Lowell is waking up!"
All attention snapped toward Emily.
Nathan immediately knelt beside her, grasping her hand.
"Where does it hurt?" His voice was tight.
Emily offered a weak smile. "I'm fine, Nathan. Probably just skipped breakfast..."
She glanced around apologetically. "So sorry for troubling everyone..."
