Chapter 251

The performances of the veteran actors on set left Adrian Valdemar in awe.

Just a few hours of observation had enriched him immensely.

Sophia Laurent recognized this potential. She renewed her offer to sign him with Pearl Entertainment.

Adrian caught her smiling eyes in the rearview mirror. He gritted his teeth. "Fine, I'll sign."

If Sophia could provide such resources, why refuse?

After all, this woman had ulterior motives for marrying his brother. Until she achieved them, she wouldn't harm him.

"But on one condition—my agent and lawyer must be present during signing."

He wouldn't sign any binding contract that trapped him permanently.

"No problem," Sophia agreed readily.

Such a minor request was easily accommodated.

Adrian exhaled, then silently cursed his own weakness.

As the car entered Valdemar Sanatorium, his thoughts remained tangled.

Patriarch Valdemar sat propped against the headboard, flipping through a magazine.

Hearing the knock, he looked up. His stern expression softened instantly at the sight of Sophia.

"Sophia, you're here?"

"Me too," Adrian peeked out from behind her. "Old man, I'm back."

The patriarch's face darkened. He hurled a pillow. "You dare show your face?"

Adrian caught it midair. "Why shouldn't I come back?"

"Wasting your life in idleness! How did our family produce such a disappointment?"

Not to mention the scandal of harassing his sister-in-law upon returning.

Adrian's smile vanished.

"Heh!" He sneered. "Blame the bad genes. I inherited them."

"You insolent—!" The patriarch's breathing turned ragged.

Among the younger Valdemars, Adrian alone showed no fear, always provoking his rage.

Adrian remained stiff-faced. "This is how I talk. Since when do you care?"

The patriarch's furious glare sent chills down Adrian's spine.

Though inwardly nervous, Adrian maintained his defiant front.

"If I didn't worry you'd hand our legacy to outsiders, I wouldn't bother enduring this..."

Another pillow came flying.

"Get out!"

As tensions escalated between grandfather and grandson, Sophia intervened. "Grandfather, don't be angry. Adrian actually missed you."

Adrian rolled his eyes.

Miss this hot-tempered old man?

What a joke!

Sophia turned her smiling gaze on him. "Adrian, isn't that right?"

Adrian: "??"

He suddenly recalled that morning's beating.

His body seemed to ache anew.

His lips twitched. Reluctantly, he nodded. "Right... old man, I missed you..."
