Chapter 493
The black Lincoln limousine was suffocating with tension. The Lowell family stared at Pearl Group's announcement on their phone screens.
Richard Lowell tapped twice on the leather seat before letting out a cold chuckle.
"That girl moves fast."
His eyes narrowed, recalling Sophia's sharp phoenix eyes. The Lowell genes were decent, but Sophia had inherited exceptional beauty and business acumen.
William Lowell gazed blankly out the window, indifferent to the announcement. His mind still replayed Emily's betrayal.
Daniel Lowell silently scrolled through Versini Couture's financial report, his fingertips turning cold. Only now did he realize he'd never truly understood his sister.
"The internet is tearing Lowell Entertainment apart," Nathan Lowell suddenly raised his phone. "They're saying our silence proves guilt."
His eyes swept across the family. "Should we clarify for Sophia?"
Silence filled the car again.
William finally spoke. "She doesn't need it."
With Dr. Quincy on her side, that was proof enough.
Richard slammed his hand on the armrest. "Call the police! Now!" His voice dripped with venom. "Emily thinks she can trample the Lowells to marry into the Cunninghams? Dream on!"
"I'll arrange it." Nathan immediately dialed his assistant.
Meanwhile, Pearl Group's new laboratory blazed with light.
Sophia had just finished calibrating equipment with Dr. Quincy when her phone vibrated.
"Yes?" Her voice softened instinctively.
Alexander's deep tone came through the receiver. "Grandfather wants to know if you'll join us for dinner."
A pause. "Just family."
His pen twirled between fingers.
Sophia laughed lightly. "Of course."
As she hung up, police sirens wailed in the distance. Through the window, she watched Emily being escorted into a patrol car.
