Chapter 215

Sophia Laurent lifted her gaze, her eyes like ice daggers piercing the man at the door.

"Get out."

Her voice was colder than frozen steel.

Adrian Valdemar leaned against the doorframe, a smirk playing on his lips.

"So hostile, sister-in-law."

He jingled his car keys.

"Let me take you somewhere fun."

Sophia didn't even glance up.

"Not interested."

Adrian strode to her desk and slammed his palm over the documents she was reviewing.

"If you refuse..."

He deliberately drew out his words.

"I'll tear these all up."

Sophia finally looked up.

She studied him for three long seconds before smiling.

"Adrian, don't you have anything better to do?"

She capped her fountain pen with deliberate slowness.

"Shall I call the psychiatric hospital for you?"

Adrian shrugged, unfazed.

"You're even prettier when you're angry."

He leaned closer.

"How about—"

Sophia shot to her feet.

"Adrian."

Her voice was soft but carried undeniable authority.

"Does your brother know you're this idle?"

Adrian's smirk froze.

Sophia seized the moment to circle her desk.

"Right now. Immediately. Without delay."

She enunciated each word.

"Get. Out."

Adrian quickly recovered his roguish grin.

"So cruel."

He pouted theatrically.

"I just wanted to—"

Sophia suddenly grabbed a folder from her desk.

Whack!

The folder struck Adrian's head with a sharp crack.

"Ow!"

He clutched his forehead.

"You—"

Sophia had already unbuckled her belt.

"You want to play?"

She flicked the belt with a cold laugh.

"Let's play properly."

The leather cut through the air with a menacing hiss.

"Ah!"

Adrian yelped in pain.

He hadn't expected her to actually strike him.

"Crazy woman!"

He dodged while cursing.

"Do you know who I am?"

Sophia ignored him, each lash more vicious than the last.

"Stop! Enough!"

Adrian scrambled away in panic.

"I surrender! I was wrong!"

Sophia finally lowered the belt.

She fastened it back around her waist with elegant precision.

"Leaving now?"

Adrian rubbed his reddened arm, teeth clenched.

"This isn't over!"

He spat the threat before fleeing in disgrace.

The office door slammed shut behind him.

Sophia returned to her seat without expression.

She picked up her pen and resumed reviewing documents.

As if nothing had happened.
