Chapter 464
Data recovery would take time.
William Lowell stormed toward Dr. Preston Quincy with a dark expression.
"Dr. Quincy, lend me your phone."
His gaze locked onto the screen of Quincy's device.
Quincy frowned at him.
"Fine."
He unlocked the phone and handed it over without hesitation.
William immediately scrolled to the contacts.
Sophia Laurent's name stood out prominently.
The call connected after just a few rings.
"Good morning, Dr. Quincy."
Sophia's lazy voice drifted through the speaker.
"Sophia!"
William spat her name through gritted teeth.
"William?"
Her tone instantly sharpened.
"You stole the Lowell Group's research. Feeling proud of yourself?"
His voice dripped with venom.
"Without Dr. Quincy's work, the Lowell family is finished!"
A brief silence stretched on the other end.
"What are you talking about? The research was stolen?"
Genuine surprise colored her words.
"Stop playing dumb!"
William's roar echoed through the room.
"The surveillance footage will be restored soon. You'll be behind bars by then!"
A soft chuckle answered him.
"Dr. Quincy's institute is solely funded by me. There's no contractual relationship with the Lowell Group."
The sound of a coffee cup being set down followed.
"Does conducting research in your building automatically make the results yours?"
William's face turned ashen.
"You planned this humiliation from the start?"
"No."
Her voice turned icy.
"If I truly wanted to act, you wouldn't even have made it to the press conference."
"So you admit it?"
His fists clenched.
The delicate clink of porcelain punctuated the tense silence.
