Chapter 224
Henry Chamberlain's ears burned under Alexander Valdemar's questioning. His fingers unconsciously fiddled with his suit cuff.
"Ahem..." He cleared his throat. "I was just curious... How do you feel about Madam disciplining Young Master Adrian?"
Alexander's knuckles rapped twice on the desk.
What could he say?
Adrian Valdemar needed discipline.
Yet his grip on the fountain pen tightened slightly at the sound of those pained cries.
"Let her be."
Henry stole a glance at his boss's tense jawline.
"Should we assign someone to follow Young Master Adrian?" He lowered his voice. "Just in case he..."
Alexander's sharp gaze cut him off.
"Make it happen."
Sophia Laurent handed the last document to her assistant as the clock struck noon.
She rubbed her aching lower back and dialed her driver.
The Tangcheng Film Studio pass rustled softly in her bag.
The set of "Love You Forever" was located at the western edge of the studio.
Under the scorching sun, Sophia stood beneath a tree with her parasol.
A shrill reprimand pierced the air.
"Are you made of wood? Can't even play a spoiled rich kid properly?"
The female director in a floral shirt waved her script wildly. "Even extras act better than you!"
Adrian's dress shirt clung to his sweat-drenched back.
His lips pressed into a thin line, lashes casting delicate shadows in the sunlight.
Sophia's fingertip swiped across her phone screen.
A red recording light blinked to life.
The director suddenly hurled a water bottle at him.
"Again! One more screw-up and you're fired!"
The bottle grazed Adrian's temple before exploding against the concrete in a burst of water.
Sophia narrowed her eyes.
She watched as the young man silently bent to retrieve the bottle and walked toward the trash can.
