Chapter 349

Those icy eyes held unmistakable mockery.

Vincent Valdemar's chest tightened. His fingers clenched involuntarily.

Every shareholder's gaze in the boardroom was fixed on him. He had no choice but to suppress his fury.

Alexander's proposal outlined transforming the Eden Project into Asia's largest integrated resort.

The vast suburban expanse was precisely why the land had remained undeveloped for so long.

Watching the shareholders' wavering expressions, Vincent gritted his teeth.

"Gentlemen," his voice rose sharply, "don't forget the dividends I've promised."

He feigned distress, pressing fingers to his temple. "As a father, seeing Alexander hospitalized pains me more than anyone. But Valdemar Group cannot descend into chaos."

"Your livelihoods depend on its stability."

His words had the intended effect. Shareholders lifted their heads attentively.

"As for the Eden Project, we'll revisit it another day."

"Now, I propose revoking Sophia Laurent's authority as acting CEO."

He'd already secured the votes.

The Patriarch had been maneuvered away. By the time he realized what happened, it would be too late.

Then the project's fate would rest solely in Vincent's hands.

Sophia tapped the table lightly with her fingertips.

So this was outright theft.

Her rapport with these old foxes couldn't compare to Vincent's long-standing relationships.

Those supporting her did so out of respect for the Patriarch and Alexander.

Judging by the atmosphere, Vincent must have promised substantial incentives.

Her gaze flickered.

If he was playing dirty, she needn't hold back either.

As long as she refused to surrender the corporate seal, Vincent couldn't touch her.

Once the Patriarch noticed something amiss, he'd intervene.

This realization relaxed Sophia. She leaned back leisurely, surveying the room with an amused half-smile.

That look ignited Vincent's temper.

"Sophia," he snapped, "hand over the seal. Let's keep this civil."

She didn't even bother looking at him.

This was a test of patience now.

Being ignored finally shattered Vincent's composure.

"What's this attitude? I'm your elder!"

The boardroom doors burst open.

A razor-sharp voice cut through the tension:

"So you do remember being an elder?"
