Chapter 472

The silence on the other end of the line stretched for a full minute.

When Emily Lowell finally spoke, all pretense had vanished from her voice.

"Since you already know everything, there's no point in me continuing this act."

Her tone turned icy and detached, completely different from before.

"William, you always claim to treat me like a real sister. So what's wrong with me taking what belongs to my own family?"

William Lowell's fingers tightened around his phone.

"Emily, what exactly are you trying to do?" His voice strained. "Do you understand how important this research is to Lowell Enterprises?"

A soft chuckle came through the line.

"Didn't you promise to give me anything I wanted?"

William swallowed hard, momentarily speechless.

"But this is different..."

"How?" Emily interrupted. "Because this time it affects your precious profits?"

Richard Lowell snatched the phone away, his voice stern.

"Return the materials immediately, or face the consequences."

Emily's tone instantly shifted to one of sorrow.

"Daddy, you said you'd always cherish me..."

Her voice trembled with fake tears. "Now you won't even grant me this small request?"

Victoria Lowell moved closer to the receiver.

"Emily, please return the documents. Mommy promises not to blame you."

Emily's lips curled into a cold smile.

"Sorry, Mother. I can't do that."

She absently twisted the wedding band on her finger, eyes flashing with triumph.

Richard exploded with rage.

"After everything the Lowells have done for you, this is how you repay us?"

"Repay?" Emily laughed lightly. "I've already handed the materials to the Cunninghams. Consider it my dowry."

The call ended abruptly.
